    Intermittent stalling

Been dealing with an issue with random stalling lately. Car is a 2001 b5 a4, 1.8t with an AWM and 5 speed transmission.

Over winter, my master cylinder and booster collectively decided to crap the bed, so the car sat in its garage for a couple months as I was busy and waiting on parts to arrive. Finally got the brakes fixed up for the summer, and now the car will occasionally stall out, sometimes from idle, sometimes when moving and seeming to be running just fine.

Sometimes, the car fires right back up and keeps going like nothing happened, and sometimes it dies and decides it’s done for the day. It spent 4 days in the shop I work at after I pulled it in to do some routine maintenance and it decided it wasn’t going to run anymore.

I’ve unplugged the MAF- ran fine for a day and then symptoms returned. Replaced the crank sensor- same thing, ran great then stopped. It appears the fuel pump is shutting off, but is being told to, so I don’t believe it’s a fuel pump issue (I could be wrong).

Has anyone ever experienced these symptoms and have a suggestion as to where I should go now? I’m new to the platform, as well as chasing down issues like this. Pulled codes through a VAG system I was able to borrow, and only got p0102 (this was after unplugging the MAF, so no surprise there) and p0030 (bank 1 sensor 1). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Same thing happened to my 2000 a4 back in the day. Replace the ECU relay. Cheap part and likely the culprit!
