    AC stopped working

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
After fixing some other unrelated issues my ac stopped working out of nowhere. This never happened to me before on my C7 A7 that had higher miles so I知 irritated to be dealing with this in the middle of summer on my S6

Anyways I did a VCDS scan

From doing research I was pretty positive it was the ac pressure switch. I ordered one off Amazon prime and installed it, still the same code and no ac.

The Fan comes on, but When I press the ac button it値l show the light and then the light goes off as soon as I release the button

I値l post my VCDS scan here

Is the switch I bought complete junk? Or is my issue something other than the ac pressure switch? Hoping to get this taken care of asap I don稚 want to sweat my a** off on my commute. Any help is appreciated thanks!

Upon further research im still thinking the ac pressure switch is the issue. The one I bought on amazon is probably junk. I purchased it because I needed one before Monday and it was the only one on prime. Didn't think that it would not work at all, but since the code is still the same after changing the ac pressure switch my best guess is that this one is a dud. Since I havent gotten any input ill be returning this one and getting a higher quality or oem one from the stealership tomorrow

If you haven't already, make an account on Ross-Tech forums and post your entire scan.
There you will find VCDS nerds that can help decode the data and point you in the right direction. The AC system has many various modules that might disable the entire system if there is a fault in any one of them. They might ask you to monitor live data on specific modules. From there they might detect a module with suspicious values and that might be your culprit.

I had an issue with the AC on my A7 little while back, and my mechanic found a fuse that blew. The AC would kinda work as long as I was moving. The fuse was tucked up in the passenger side corner of the underhood. Some kind of flat metal fuse rather than the normal blade or glass fuses.

I did suspect that too, to my understanding its the cooling fan fuses that are located there, Could be a culprit but I ruled it out because it seems like my fans are working as they should. I guess it wouldnt hurt to check anyways

That little fan fuse tucked away under the cross-brace was the culprit when my fan went out. But since your fan is powering up, i'm not sure that would be it especially if it's consistently staying on.

My A/C was crap a few years back. Had the dealer check it out while I was there having other work done. Turns out it was 8 grams low on freon.

Im positive that A cooling fan is coming on, but the more I think about it, It could be the radiator fan on and the ac fan being out. Hard to tell if both are on, but Ill check the fuses to be sure

I checked the refrigerant pressure on vcds and it looked fine, but It would hurt to physically check and recharge if necessary. Just weird how it stopped one day after working fine the previous day

My 2014 A7 had a similar issue about 6 months ago where the AC was working intermittently. I bought a new pressure sensor off Ebay, installed it and my AC quit completely.

Then I reinstalled the old sensor and my AC has worked perfectly ever since. So I sent the Ebay switch back as non-working.

I'm not sure why my AC had issues in the first place but I am pleased the fix was easy and free, you might try the same thing. Otherwise, check your freon levels.

I want to check the fan fuses does anyone know what size those bolts are on the crossmember? Ill have to take a trip to the parts store to grab the right socket
