Thank you. Are you saying I should try the fishing line first? I’ve done that for emblem removal before, but never on PPF. I’m thinking I should have someone that knows what they’re doing tackle this as I’d also like to get the front splitter wrapped to match the OEM carbon fiber. I’ll ask them upfront what the plan would be if the PPF was damaged during install. Would a new trunk panel coverage be discounted? @Lensch09 mentioned a product by STEK that matched near perfectly, but the link was dead. Anyone know? I’m hopefully going with the same Carbon Imports spoiler that Lensch09 used. How noticeable would different CF patterns be? I would think Presidential could probably get it pretty darn close though.
I got a great deal on my 2023 RS5 with everything but the competition package with 2200 miles with full matte PPF. That’s how I’m justifying doing the mods to myself LOL. Technically I’d still be to the good with the TTE twins. I have a few extremely expensive hobbies. This thread is like a blue print that’s going to save me (or cost me) a fortune.

Finally got more custom carbon fiber!!! I purchased a spare rear console panel from a B9 A4 45 and sent it to my supplier to have it skinned and laminated. Before I sent it in, I swapped in the vents from my car (has heated rear seats option). Originally, the plan was just to skin the vents, but then ended up doing the whole part



After I got the parts back, I swapped out the lower sub-assembly with mine for 2 reasons; 1) B9 A5 45 does not have USB C charging ports and 2) It was too much CF for me, I needed to break it up a bit.



Also, ceramic coating protection because why not?





Ready to go in the car! Install is pretty easy - Just some trim tools and a few electrical connectors







Final product - Looks pretty good!





It's been pretty warm here in South SF Bay area (Silicon Valley). Ambient temps have been running between 95-100 degrees for the past week or so. Even though the car is running E85, it's really struggling with the heat. I'm thinking I'll want a full Wagner Tuning Comp cooling setup before the heat season returns in 2025.

Still sitting there. Wanted cherry filling for cheesecake, but Safeway sucks so I ended up with this. After some deliberation, I decided that apple pie filling should not be applied to cheesecake.

I think I'm gonna hold on more carbon fiber. It's already getting to be alot. I think if I did anymore, it would feel more like a pep-boys car than a refined automobile.

Tried these in a BMW a few months ago and had to have them. JQ Werks Madtrace Clubsport magnetic shifter paddles. They're absolutely awesome. Not cheap, but worth it.







Comes with shorter and longer paddle pulls. I opted with the longer ones. Side by side comparison of the JQ Werks bits and my stock ones with "DSG paddle extenders"





Very satisfying "clink" on every shift.

I had thought my car was complete, even being built during COVID times. I finally found something it was missing - DRC Strut Top/Electrical connector caps.

How it's looked for the past 2.5+ years





P/N for stock cap is 4M0412376A (same for left and right)



They were too shiny for me from Audi, and had a slightly scuffed machine plastic polish



To remedy this, I used some Wurth paint to soften them up a bit.



Looks great!!!

Well folks, a few YouTubers had a chance to review my car in its current form. They stacked it up a tastefully modified Alfa Quad. Initial review of the Quad is out… you can see the RS5 in the background and they compare them a lot. Next video of the series comes out on Friday.



Car is also going back under the knife this Friday. 034 Motorsport is graciously installing the full Wagner kit alone with some other goodies.

Cap: 8V0858869 - I didn't have anything to bundle them with for shipping, so they were picked up at the parts counter at the dealer instead.

I saw that Alpha video in my recommended feed and didn't end up watching it. Had no idea your car was tied to that. I'll be looking for the video with yours for sure!

Another update! ZTF Automotive (a branch of 034 Motorsport) installed the full Wagner-Tuning Competition Package Intercooler / Radiator kit.

ZTF did a great install. I did top off the coolant a few days later.



There's really not many visual cues the kit is installed once everything is buttoned back up. I took the radiator plate off to take a look at the radiator. Nice stuff. Brackets are VERY nice as well.







Starting to run out of things to do and haven't even hit 9k miles.... yet. Whoops. Obviously, we're setting the groundwork here for larger turbos if I decide to go down that route. I've had some local contacts run into issues with head lift on big turbos. 034 can supply an aftermarket solution to head lift from Wagner and also has their own MLS head-gaskets. I'm not sure I want to go down that route, yet.

I never really took any logs when the car didn't have the upgrade. I had kicked around switching to A2A - However, I changed my mind when I thought about the benefits of water/air (this isn't a straight up drag car).

It took ZTF who are experienced techs mostly all day (7-8 hours).
