Cleaned the OEM exhaust tips last night as I plan on keeping this setup for awhile (Cete AVC and BullX resonator deletes on RS Sport Exhaust).

Gyeon Q2M prep and then coated with Gtechniq C5 (it's for wheels but also formulated for other high heat applications)

Stay tuned - More stuff coming!

Wheels are here! Thank you Ben (mops@nemesisautosport)!

    I cleaned/coated them. Process:

Prepped with Gyeon Q2m or Gtechniq Panel Wipe (I'm trying to debate which one I like better)
Barrels and faces first coat with Gtechniq CSL - Allowed to cure for ~24 hours before second coats
Barrels second coat with Gtechniq C5 - I do this because the finish properties of C5 sheet water, not repel - I figured this would be better to retain wheel weights (I'd prefer they don't "dance around" and/or fly off)
Faces second coat with Gtechniq EXOv4 - Finish properties of this are hydrophobic (they repel water) - Figured this would keep it easier to do a waterless wash if I wanted
Waiting for them to cure for ~24 hours before putting them back in the boxes to take to installer - While curing, I covered the wheels with the cheesecloth/thin covers from BC forged to keep dust away.

More pictures of the wheels and the process:

    Initial inspections

Gyeon Q2M prep - basically a fancied up isopropyl mix

Gtechniq CSL and some super plush Adams MF to level/buff. I used sponge/blocks wrapped in MF cloths for the barrels, and then finger foam from Gtechniq for the faces

As I moved through the process and completed each wheel, they were covered to avoid dust settling on them while curing

As I moved through the process, barrels got second/top coat above the CSL with Gtechniq C5 (sheets water and can handle high heat)

Faces/front-lips got their top coat above CSL with GTechniq EXOv4

    .
All tucked away for the night to cure - I'll re-package them tomorrow. I have an appointment to get them installed at Love Shop Auto in Fremont on Friday - hilarious name, but it's a shop that came highly recommended by Audi Gruppe Silicon Valley (AGSV)

    Stay tuned!!! More stuff coming!

Wow, this is a serious obsession - keep up the good work!

How do you find the NVH and comfort levels after fitting all of the driveline inserts?

Only have the transmission mount currently - Car does some weird things in dynamic/S transmission mode when coming to a stop (when it downshifts to first).

I've done a bit of research and this seems to be a completely normal phenomenon on the RS4/5 cars. Something with the transmission tuning to make it more "sporty."

    Other than that, it's perfect.

I thought the transmission mount was supposed to help with the jerky 2 to 1 downshift? What's strange, is that Audi made the jerkiness of that gear change even more noticeable from the pre-refresh! I guess they wanted it to feel even more "hardcore" lol

I'm sure the mount helped... Still "not right."

    Wheels are installed!

    Specs:
    20X10 BCForged RZ21 - ET23
Some type of black hardware from Italy source by Ben (Mops @ Nemesis) - No clue what brand
BHSens (Huff) TPMS and rubber valve stems (stock TPMS doesn't fit).

Looks great with all of the new carbon bits - Still waiting on the replacement center-caps (I'm getting the White/Red BCForged caps).

After looking at the car for a bit, it's gonna need the ride height addressed - I already ordered ABT HAS at the advice of Ben (Mops) - Thanks again for the recommendation.

I have some other updates as well, but am leaving town and won't have a chance to provide those updates until probably Sunday.

    Stay tuned!!!

For those that need the p/n for the BHSens/Huf TPMS sensors that work with aftermarket wheels (OEM active sensors typically have too large of a diameter stem to work on aftermarket wheels).

    Now installed:
Karbel Carbon dry carbon fiber radiator cooling plate
Karbel Carbon dry carbon fiber fog light trim overlay - I don't think anyone told them that they aren't foglights LOL

Prior to install, radiator plate was coated with GTechniq CSL, then topped with GTechniq C5 (to manage the heat). "Fog light" overlays were coated with GTechniq CSL, then GTechniq EXOv4

The overcaps have EXTREMELY tight tolerances - Thomas at Karbel notified me of this prior to the install and mentioned that they may not fit perfect if using double sided 3M tape - My solution was removable silicon, works pretty great! We'll see how sturdy it is, I don't really want one of these things flying off booking it down the freeway.

    Overcaps installed

Stay tuned! I have more stuff inbound and more stuff to install!

Yeah. Only a few hundred miles on it, too.

Installed the low-profile Euro-spec rear seat headrests. Thank you for hooking it up, Ben (Mops@Nemesis).

Here they are! Black leather with Crescendo-Red stitching

First things, first. Colourlock to protect them and keep them looking fresh!

Stockers - Obviously, NHSTA prioritized protecting passengers from whiplash in a rear end collision rather than prioritizing driver visibility - Not sure it's the choice I would make, but

Removing the stockers is pretty easy - First, "unplug" the mechanical key from the key-fob.

Insert the mechanical key into the slot while simultaneously pressing the adjustment button to release the headrests

Low-profile Euro-spec on the left, NA spec on the right

    50/50 pictures

And complete -- Done for the night.

Stay tuned! As always, more parts inbound!

I did all of these mods with around 500 miles on the car (or less).

She kinda knew it was coming - I sold my B8.5 last summer as we weren't driving it and her car needed replaced. Well... not necessarily needed, but you know what I mean.

Sold the B8.5, bought a Rav4 Hybrid. Probably dumped $10-$15k worth of mods into that thing - She thinks it looks good, but has absolutely no clue what I did... LOL

    Contact Mops@Nemesis

Nemesis are one of the few orgs in North America that can decode the factory color/material options for part numbers.

Such an amazing build thread. I just picked up a 2019 RS5 last month and loving it. Have some mods done but there's always more to do. Such an addiction.

I agree 100% - I'm still learning all the tech in the car - Had a chance to use park assist yesterday after leaving a movie with my wife. Kinda cool but a bit creepy at the same time.

Absolutely had to get the customized BCForged "red flag" center caps. Does it give off an HRE vibe? Yeah, maybe a little. But, I like knowing I have wheels that are just as nice, just as lightweight, and just enough cheaper that I'll actually have a conversation with my wife about how much they cost.

Thank you Ben (Mops@NemesisAutosport) for constantly being helpful, timely, and just generally awesome!

Standard machined BC "brushed dark black" above. "Red flag" center caps below - They don't even show them on their website, which I think is pretty funny.

Of course they're coated. GTechniq CSL basecoat, topped up with Gtechniq EXOv4.

Weird angle wide lens make the rear brakes look tiny. But, you get the idea

Wife's car needs to go in for its' 1-year service/oil change next week. Figured I'd order some placards from Matt @ OG to remind them that they shouldn't be running it through a wash (if it's not already on the service memo/notes).

BCForgedNA must have seen pictures of the car on the interwebs. I did order a small sticker set (the $10 one) to label up my toolbox/helmet - This showed up....

Overall, an awesome weekend. I have tracking on my titanium wheel stud/nut conversion, and also my ABT HAS. ZTF (034) already has me booked to get sorted on Thursday, 5/26.

    Stay tuned!

There's a thread here on Audizine claiming that the phase of the stock B&O subwoofer in sportback cars is reverse phased.

    https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...om-the-factory

I took the time to de-pin the factory connector, and flip the wires around to put both the Kicker and the JL into standard phase (or at least reverse phased from factory install).

    Factory pinning:

Now reversed (set to standard phase, 180 degree from factory)::

    https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.aud...4e4baf9b25.jpg

Bruce Miranda/Mironics cable back in place

    Everything back in place:

I didn't actually get out any equipment to check polarity of the factory setup (either factory sub outlet or front door drivers) - Just figured this was simple enough, I'd give it a shot - If I didn't like it, I'd change it back.

Sample size is relatively small, but it seems to have flattened out bass response (especially deep lows). I'd like to re-run the Key algorithms, and get a bit more time listening before I fully sign off on this - So far, I'm impressed!

    Stay tuned!

I figured I'd give it one more update for the night before my work/life balance goes to hell for the week tomorrow morning

Well folks - Some less interesting stuff.

Since I only drive this car maybe once/twice a week and for short distances, I have it on a battery maintainer/charger.

    CTEK Multi US 7002

    https://redirect.viglink.com/?format...ums&txt=Amazon

Wall mounted with optional rubber insulater on the off-chance I "whack it" with something

    https://redirect.viglink.com/?format...ums&txt=Amazon

I have the extension cable, too - But, not using it while I'm "backed in to the garage."

    https://redirect.viglink.com/?format...ums&txt=Amazon

I have the vehicle connections hardwired to the "jumper locations" under hood (hoops under the factory retainers, ran to the CTEK quick connect - CTEK connections are weather/waterproof)

Wall mounted 7002 - Not sure how you folks feel about it - But, I've had great success with similar setups in the past. It's great to "set it and forget it."

Hood down - Only thing that isn't great is the alarm doesn't activate while the hood is slightly up - Oh well, we have security systems.

Stay tuned - I have more parts/updates - ZTF had to delay some more intrusive suspension work due to a tech shortage (COVID related call-offs) - Parts are here, just waiting to show what we're working on until we get closer to install.

Getting the car all loaded up to go to ZTF/034.

We will be installing these - ABT HAS - Thank you Ben (Mops@Nemesis)!!!

Pretty neat that these are TuV approved to a certain ride-height. TuV Nord, too (where I lived for 2+ years).

From what I can tell with a full tank of fuel, the front end of the car sits at 27 1/4" FTG with ~700 miles on stock tires. Rear sits lower @ 27 1/8" from factory. I can confirm it not only appears to have a reverse rate, it mechanically does.

After the ABT HAS kit is installed, we're gonna set the initial ride-height at 26 1/4 FTG" on the front and 26 3/8" FTG in the rear (with a ~3/4 tank of fuel). Ben (Mops@Nemesisautosport) recommended I put at least 500 miles on the car before it goes back in for alignment. At that point, we'll figure out where I want it to sit for the longer term (I'd imagine it'll settle at least an 1/8" all around in those first 500 miles).

Included in the quote from ZTF/034 was the initial installation, initial ride height and alignment setting, and then an additional 4-wheel alignment after I put some miles on the car and the suspension settles.

Once I get the car back tomorrow night at initial ride height and alignment, I'll be taking some measurements for spacers. I plan on working with Ben (Mops) on lining those up. The rear shouldn't need much as there is an eccentric bolt back there to get camber back after lowering. Front will likely need more (probably a 3mm or a 5mm, landing me at an ET20 or an ET18). This titanium stud kit from Nemesis allows me to run up to a 15MM without changing hardware. I plan to throw those on when I get the car back as well.

Stay tuned. Gonna be a fun week!!!

This is unrelated, but how noticeable is the valve open all the time mod + res deletes? Would you get an aftermarket exhaust still?

The pops/bangs are significantly more audible when they're open. Car is about perfect volume, although tone could be improved.

It's very comfortable when in comfort (nearly stock). Only reason I would want an aftermarket would be to change the tone, not the loudness.

Thanks for the reply Lensch09. Do you have a link to the dongle/thingy you purchased to activate the valves open? I remember seeing it somewhere on the forums for $78 on eBay or something like that

Also, would you say the next step In loudness would be high flow cats?

No, I have a Cete AVC - It plugs into the system's can-bus and operates the valves via the drive select. It more or less "splices in" in the back cubby by the overhead camera module.

It looks like this (brain box, cables, plug-ins to OEM valves, plug-ins to OEM wiring @ valves

Benefit of this is I still have full control over the valves (I can control when they open or close).

Link to the product @ Tag

    https://tagmotorsports.com/cete-acti...9-a5-s5-rs5-s4

I purchased it from Ben (Mops@Nemesis) - He can get you taken care of.

Regarding next steps in loudness, removing the third resonator has been tried by many and it doesn't really do anything. I definitely would not remove the rear boxes - You'd lose valve functionality and that's really the whole purpose.

Hi-flow cats/test-pipes would definitely increase the noise, but you'll throw a CEL unless you have software coding. HFCs or TPs on this platform (2.9TT) have proven to have negligible performance gains (on stock turbos), and you run the risk of CELs, law enforcement problems, and or smog/emissions issues.

HFCs or test pipes can also create rasp and tonality problems - Not as severe on turbo cars, but they can sound like hell on N/A or supercharged V6s (I personally think B8/B8.5 S4 sound like a bag of ass when running testpipes).

If you're in an S4/3.0T car, a HFC or TP has performance benefits. The 2.9tt cars, not so much at least on stock turbos. If the time comes when this car sees TTEs, I'll be jumping to aftermarket HFC/TP, but on stock turbos, factory is fine.

If resonator delete on RS sport exhaust + a Cete AVC doesn't create enough volume for you, best move would be to jump towards an aftermarket cat-back from the get-go.

Resistance is futile - I said a few builds ago that I was gonna leave it stock... That car ended up getting a GT2871R, full suspension, fueling mods, methanol....

Hey, I left the drivetrain in my S4 stock. Could be due to the fact that I went overboard with the previous car - 2007 Subaru Legacy GT Spec.B. Had two complete motors - one with stock internals, one fully built - went through like 5 turbochargers, all sorts of crazy stuff... but I did max out around 500hp at the wheels...
