    b9.5 Garage door close

How are you guys closing your garage door? I'm reversing out so my backup camera is on and the car isn't offering me the ability to close my door yet. By the time the camera shuts off i'm halfway down the road and my garage is out of range...

It's a cool feature on paper but i'm wishing I had a hard button like the B9

This is one of the reasons I'm really starting to really dislike screens for everything in a vehicle. Forget about endless fingerprints on the screen surfaces, laggy touch interfaces, having to take your eyes off the road to keep your hand on target as it bounces around....menu navigation is now required for the most basic of functions.

I'll keep my B9 for now :). That being said there are plenty of home automation type solutions for your garage door that can allow you to use your phone, via voice control if you wish, to close the door or even do so automatically based on geofencing.

There's a viral video going around about how you need to use the touchscreen to open the glove box in a new Cadillac

Figured it out. I can swipe down from the top at any menu to enable the garage door button.

I think Tesla makes you go though infotainment to open the glove compartment too

this is the way! you can also setup the location of your garage door so when you pull up to your house, it automatically pops up and saves you from having to swipe down. That's how mine is setup, so when I leave and come home, it just pops up on my screen, and with a quick tap, the command is sent and my garage door opens. very easy and intuitive

I do have that setup, coming home isn't an issue, works great. It was just the first time i'm pulling out I have a habit of hitting the garage door button as i'm rolling backward. Just a bit of a learning curve. I do however miss the shortcut 1-8 buttons. It seems I have to program every single XM radio station as a favorite where as before I'd put something in that genre like channel xx and scroll up and down from there.

Also, they must have changed the ECU on 9.5's I no longer get the timing "fart" when going through gears on dynamic. I also noticed the 2018's are advertised as 354hp where my 2021 is 349hp. Dunno how that works since the engine is the same...

Yea I am also not a fan of the favorites for satellite, and how they don't organize them by numerical order. When you 'scrol' through them, it scrolls based on the order they were placed in favorites, not in any order. Also, I have a 2022 S4 and the DSG farts are still there for me. Maybe it is more pronounced since I ordered mine with the Audi sport exhaust package

Unlikely Audi self corrected themselves, so likely some regulation called them out for advertising metric hp as hp in the US. 354PS = 349 bhp. All the models were revised for MY19. A4 45, 252hp -> 248hp; A4 40, 190hp -> 188hp, etc.

Couldn't agree more. Some of these manufacturers are burying everything in a menu in the main panel. Like yes we get it's cheaper than buttons, and you put in a big ass screen to make it feel fancy, but many of us like buttons. This is why I really like the B9 so much it still has buttons for pretty much all the things you need a button for. Moving the garage buttons to the screen is a step in the wrong direction, but I'm sure Audi/VAG saved a few bucks per car. Also burying things in an integrated screen lets manufacturers get away with features that are incomplete. You would wonder what's up if you were being sold a car missing a button for a promised feature, but now that you expect everything in the screen maybe you won't notice. Tesla was happily doing stuff like that, for instance we were trying to find the rain sensing wiper feature in the screen when my buddy bought one of the fancy models a few years ago. Find the section in the screen and it says "this feature will come in a future update"... I love tech and single interface integration done well makes sense for many features, but they're doing it the wrong way for the wrong reasons.

I programmed the "favorites" button on the steering wheel to open/close the garage door. It works perfectly!

I like this idea. Might give it a try.
