I apologize for the long post.. But im desperately for help or any information and i didn’t know how to make this post shorter without leaving out details.. please excuse my lack of knowledge when it comes to the tuning and just car ECU side of things in general. But i’m hoping someone can help me understand a little more or help me just get a better idea of my situation at least. So when i bought my A4 B6 1.8t I didn’t get any information on what has all been done to the car modification wise and tune wise.. But driving the car for a few months i had thought that something was wrong because there would be times where the car has much more power and accelerates so much more quicker then other times where it would have dramatically less power and wouldn’t accelerate even close to how it would at other times.
( **Now i need to note that i have ADHD and i tend to fidget with things or tap my fingers etc.. An there would be times when i’ll be parked sitting in my car and i would flick my cruise control switch back in forth and without paying attention i would leave it flicked forwards at times and flicked backwards at other times.** )
Now after months of not figuring out why my car drives completely differently at random times. I had flicked the cruise control switch while taking off from a red light and i was extremely taken by shock when my head got pushed back into the seat and the car accelerated very quickly from flicking the switch forwards.. I immediately pulled into a parking lot and tested what i thought i was some how imagining but i wasn’t imagining. The car has a good amount more horse power when the cruise control switch is pushed forward and opposite when it’s not pushed forward. Like the amount of power difference is so much to where if i flick the switch forward while accelerating it’ll jolt your head back and very quickly accelerate. Vice versa if i flick it backwards while taking off it’ll drastically be much slower..
After me figuring this out i then realized there is most definitely a tune on the car but to what tune i have no idea.. I’m hoping someone can inform me a little bit so i don’t sound so crazy and can get a better idea of where to look to get more information and hopefully figure this situation..
