    A6 3.0t supercharger pops clicks

I had a twin pulley setup, had issue with the upper pulley. Had to get a new supercharger front snout and stock sized pulley. Got the JHM One and Done 207mm. Been fighting belt squealing for months. 6 different belts.... finally got it sorted like two week ago.... Now the supercharger just clicks or pops. See attached video.

I replaced the tensioner pulley and idler pulley during the belt noises. I can only run a 6rib without constant squeals...unless I manually put tension on the tensioner it gets quiet. Sometimes I have to have it 1 rib offset to the crank. It's like the charger is taking tension then dropping it on the tensioner. Warped rotors? Tensioner itself going bad? Bad charger snout? Does not matter the belt position...it just seems appears to want to jump

I just did an 900 mile round trip and did not make a peep. Ran perfect. Today....clanking away on cold start. Confused

Part of me wonders if the cheap aftermarket supercharger snout it the issue. Maybe the machining the the snout is not at the right offset.....maybe this is the squealing i get when I try any 7rib belt combo. conti, gates, bando, 1360/1368/1370mm belts....all squeals after a few miles

Going to remove the Gates belt and swap the 5 rib Conti on belt to see if keeps doing this.

EDIT: the hopping went away with the Conti belt. Maybe the Gates Micro-V belt is stretching?

Seems like the tension is not correct. I'd also be careful with aftermarket parts on these cars, especially around critical components like the supercharger.

I only see movement at the tensioner and you can see sone belt movement on the crank pulley? But otherwise all looks good with no movement. Check the integrity of those 2 pulleys. Seeing no movement at the SC snout.

How's it going. Did you ever fix the constant squeal? Im running a 207mm crank pulley and now my supercharger belt won't stop squealing and slipping as well. Tried 3 belt sizes already and also replaced idler and tensioner and still squeals and slips. Any insight here helps thnx

    No I have not.

JHM has offered me a replacement free of charge, but I have yet to take them up on it. Thank you JHM if you are reading. Truely.

It just hasn't been on my todo list. It functions with less annoyance with a 6-rib belt. Unless there has been revision for more belt tolerance, I do not see the point. Your question now proves to me there has been no updates to the product since I purchased it a few years ago. Same problem persists. I believe JHM makes solid products as this seems to only be a C7 issue. Something is different. Hazelnuts, what year is your car and how long has the pulley been on? I suspect some Audi manufacturing engine defect that only a range of motors or parts were affected and just so happen to be slated for the C7's. One CNC machine with a bad endmill or a batch of crooked superchargers, crank thrust....sounds farfetched... I know... It is the only answer I have. The idler and tensioner combo's I have tried just don't matter.
