    High flow injectors or nah?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I have an Audi A4 b7 with the 2.0t.
Recently I’ve done a 034motorsports state 1 tune and have an integrated engineering high flow intake manifold to install and before I do I might as well replace the injectors and o rings while I have them out obviously as they’re more than likely original @ 145k miles. My question however, is whether it’s necessary for me to get bigger injectors for the increased air flow or will stock injectors be fine with the flash tune? I eventually plan to get a bigger throttle body as well but in the meantime I’m using the oem one. Any educated input is appreciated.

I have a stage one tune with stock injectors....and it's fine... But I would say if you plan on going any further with a stage 2 with dp and upgraded hpfp I would do the injectors now.
There is a ton of experience with this stuff on these board so just wait for others to chime in.

if your future plans are a KO4 & up turbo or upgrading your hpfp . you need s3 injectors. running a stage 1 your stock injectors is just fine. s3 injectors need a tune to see any benefits

Bigger injectors are only beneficial(needed) for bigger turbos. Your not gonna see any increased airflow with an IE IM, on a stage tune. Stock manifold is good for like 500hp of somethin. Its more of an astetic part, or good for port WMI, on smaller turbo setups. K04 and up need bigger injectors.

Good to know, I do plan on upgrading to ko4 in the future but not anytime soon so I’ll keep that in mind for when I do, just hate to have to pull the intake a third time as it’s a PITA.

I’m going to chime in here, as someone that put 200k on a set of S3 injectors in a stock turbo car.

Do it, if you plan on ever upgrading the turbo. You’ll thank yourself for not having to pull the intake manifold. Ultimately, worst case scenario, you’re running injectors at a lower duty cycle than OEM on a tune that does t require them. All that will do is increase their usage life.

They’re by no means needed, but not a bad future investment. Also, carbon clean the valves. I suggest you find someone to dry ice blast them.
