Figured out the power steering cap too and tossed that on. I am waiting for a bit warmer weather (and getting it out of storage) for the next mods.

Could you post some part number for these? I'd be interested in getting some pretty caps :D

Ok here we go!

These are hard to find as the part number is sold as a combined tank and cap. These guys have them separately and was cheapest. Still not cheap, but it helped my OCD, haha

All of these sellers are near Lithuania and the parts must be made near them. I bought many parts from them and they were all less than half of the US price. Grab the part numbers and check the local dealer prices.

It would be interesting to see if a group buy could be organized. Somebody message one of the sellers that's near there and see if they can put together little cap kits and then sell them as a set.

Nice I also did the same but with black plastidip. It was the first thing I did cause the silver was hurting my eyes

Only time the silver works is when you also have the silver alum trim.

Next update:

swapping wheels from the Sline Q7 (going to be installing another wheel I have with paddles and heat in there instead) to the A6A. When my car was optioned it had a paddle wheel, but when they added the heated wheel, they did not install a heated with paddles. Doh. When I installed the wheel, the car was already programmed for both. Although now I do not have heated but I rarely if ever drive this in the winter I much rather have the sportier wheel all summer. Also added larger paddles from https://www.dsg-paddles.com/.

Well over the last week the left headlight leaked after heavy rain. I found the back panel could not click once removed and who knows exactly where the water is getting in. Well yes the car is old but... so new left and rights ordered. Removing the bumper will give me a bit of time to straighten it out a little better (after the shop that fixed the coolant stuff mounted it off) and finally toss on the laminX headlight flim I bought when I bought the car.

I'd definitely recommend a shift knob from BFI, would go great with the amaretto interior :D I think they have a dark brown to match.

Their brown was far too light. I bought a sample and after talking with them they were Ok with me sending a matching piece.

I was off to find a parts car with the same leather. A couple months later I found one and sent them the leather. They made the custom knob and I even have a bit left if anyone wants to do the same. Exact same leather from the same C6 interior:

It looks amazing. I went with their Orange alcantara one but then I got a 6-speed shift boot and and frame from Europe. Love it!

Have to ask, which brackets?

I have noticed that my headlights, or at least one, seems to shake, I noticed this when I'm close to other cars in front, like the xenon bulb is loose.
I'm guessing it must be some bracket that's not holding the assembly properly.

Not headlight brackets. The fender to bumper cover side ones and the ones inside of the headlights that bolt to the bumper cover.

Where did you get new headlights, or would you know where to can get new or aftermarket ones.

Sand them down and clear coat them. You can get products like Spraymax 2k 2-in-1 that work great. The lenses are held on with a hard urethane and it's a real pain to remove them. If you actually go to the trouble of removing the lenses then you should replace the OEM reflectors (which will surely show some level of oxidation) with new ones and put all new wiring in the headlight assembly. Even on a 10 year old car you will find that a lot of the wires already have brittle insulation.

Nah, I have connections and the price of these cars when clean are going up.

FWIW, I would sell my used set for $300 for both sides. They are actually in great shape and after and sand would be minty. I just couldn't take the time to find what was leaking. Money is easier to come by than my time, so I opted just to replace them and move on. Too many cars and all are projects.

In sadder news, the painter that painted my bumpers (over a year ago), side skirts, rear spoiler (6 months ago) and headlight eye lids died a week after he stopped by and gave them to me. He was 35.

Winter mode with Nokian Hakkapeliitta r3's on my freshly refurbished and custom powdercoated peelers. I don't drive this in the winter unless the winter beater needs service, but should take it out for some supercharged winter fun now and again, haha.

Swapped on the summers the night before and took it to a meeting yesterday.

Oh I just updated the timeline and forget to add this last fall. Finished installing the streaming bluetooth module and installed this audi logo bubble image to the shifter (can barely see it in the image a couple posts back).

Installed this with the Bluetooth module last October:


Installed an audi cigarette outlet (I removed from a junk yard rear cars hatch outlet with wiring) for power and no wires dangling around:


The Bluetooth module:


Installed, works like stock and I can change from the CD changer to this in the OEM screen.

Nope, it mounts to the bottom of the crash bar. Install was easy other than removing the bumper for it. Luckily mine was getting painted so it was already off.

Just a heads up - if you have a non-US car the crash bar might look completely different. I have the JHM heat exchanger also but the crash bar needed modification in my case.
