Anybody have any experience with these codes?

    Hey guys,
I've had my RS3 for a little over a month, and twice now I've had these two codes pop up, and was curious if anyone has had these before.
P050700 - Idle Control System RPM Higher than Expected
    Intermittent
    U010100- Lost communication with TCM
Next time it does it, I'm taking it in, but from my ignorant readings, it sounds like it could be the DSG or Mechatronics, I have warranty, but hope it's not that.
    Anyone else have these?
    Thanks

P050700 is definitely a vacuum leak. Is your car stock? I got this code after fitting my turbo inlet. The hose clamps from the PCV to the inlet was not tightened enough.

That other code I have seen come up when the car is flashed via the OBD port. But after clearing the code it doesn't come back.

Agree with Porra46, P050700 - Idle Control System RPM Higher than Expected, is some kind of leak or dying PCV, and U010100- Lost communication with TCM, usually comes up after flashing the tcu, but once you clear it, it shouldn't come back.

Okay I'll check out my intake system and locate the PCV hose and make sure all is tightened.
As for the TCM, I'm currently on DS1 E85 and it popped up once a couple days after flashing and heard it was common and it went away. Move forward a couple weeks, and 2 days ago it popped up again. I am currently on a Uni stage 2 TCU file and have been for about 3 weeks now.

    Just a reminder bud.

U010100 will appear every single time you reflash your car. You will even get similar messages in the Central Electronics, and even AWD controller. In fact there are a few other controllers thst also get this similar message.

I use Uniconnect and when I flash between tunes from 91 to 93 this always happens. I always scan all controllers and clear everything after a flashing session.

Seems like you bought the car used. Any other mods we should know about?

    Thanks for the response guys.
I purchased "stock", but looked to have been modified prior and put back to stock. I added: DS1 Stage 1 E85, Uni Stage 2 TCU, and Uni Midpipes at this time. My intake isn't on yet due to waiting on 034 to send my 4" inlet :(

I just got this code for the first time 2 days ago. After some spirited driving, I popped the hood and let the car run for a few minutes to cool down. I noticed it started idling higher than usual but didn't think much of it. I turned the car off (didn't check the dash for a CEL) and went about my business. The next day I started the car and immediately saw this CEL. I cleared the codes and the car seemed to idle and drive normally afterwards. The code hasn't come back. I wonder why it started to idle high in the first place. No visible loose connections or obvious vacuum leaks. I did tighten the gas cap but it seemed secure. Can't think of what else it could be.

Could be a sign of your PCV starting to give issues. Although I haven't heard of these motors giving PCV issues really.

There's a high chance that warranty is out the window now that you're tuned so it's probably not worth to mention. Some people have luck with getting warranty work done while tuned but most likely you'll be denied any warranty. Either way, I would clear the codes and see if they come back and check for vacuum leaks like others have mentioned.
