    2007 Audi A4 3.2L (B7) Peculiar Issue

    Hi everyone,

To preface, my car is a 2007 Audi A4 3.2L Avant (B7) (engine code BKH)

    Now to the problem:

I am having a peculiar issue in which my car won't go past 2000rpm when shifting from 1st through 6th. The car will shift really fast from 1st to 6th when on the gas and sort of "bog down" as the car is in too high of a gear for the speed. This happens in both "D" and "S" mode. That being said, if I stomp on the gas and hit the kickdown switch, allowing the car to downshift and shoot up the rpms to around 4-5k, the shifting issue will correct itself. The caveat is that this only works in "S" (ie. The issue will still persist in "D").

Some background on the vehicle, at 260k kms (car is currently around 262k kms), I performed the following service:

    Carbon Clean
    New Fuel injectors (Hitachi brand)
    New Fuel filter
    New Oil filter housing gasket
New intake gaskets (upper and lower)
    New Valve Cover Gaskets
    New Spark Plugs
    New PCV breather hose
    New throttle body gasket
    Oil change

The issue arose after the above service. Following the first drive, I got the following codes:

    - P1577 (Right Engine Mount Solenoid Valve (N145)): pre-existing issue before service
    - P0346 (Camshaft position sensor (G163): implausible signal)): pre-existing issue before service
    - P0306 (Cylinder 6 misfire detected)
    - P0278 (Fuel injector #6 (N84) contribution balance/fault))

I cleared the codes and the only ones that keep coming back are P1577 and P0346 with no signs of P0306 or P0278

Since then, I have tried cleaning the MAF and throttle body as well as resetting the throttle body. However, none of these worked.

Has anyone encountered this issue? I'm at a lost as no other codes / CEL are being thrown.

    Thanks for your time

If the engine is not seeing proper cam and crank sensor angles it's gonna restrict power and not rev out properly.

Fix your P0346 code, timing chain/tensioners might be bad.

Thanks for the reply. I had a suspicion that this may be the issue.

I tried swapping the sensors from left to right, but no luck. I think it is a timing chain/tensioner issue as you mentioned.
