    Clutch slave cylinder

    Hi all,

    I apologize if there is a readily available post for this info. I tried searching the forum, YT videos etc, and came up mostly empty.

    My clutch slave cylinder is shot. The pedal is an inch off the floor, and the clutch slips like crazy under any boost. I have a stage 3+ clutch and an AWE flywheel ready to go on when I install my turbos, but for now I want to drive the car around.
    What is the easiest way to swap the slave cylinder? Ive heard from above by removing the intake, and I saw one old video where they did it from below, but the video started after they removed the old one.
    I doubt this fully fixes the slipping issue, but im hoping it at least helps some. When i pull the pedal back up it slips less.

    Either will do, I think it honestly depends on how thick your forearms are, if you still have an SAI pump, and if you can work blindly. haha. It’s tight either way you go.

    There’s one bolt at the rear holding it in place that I think is a 6mm Allen head. I’d say from underneath may be easier, but you’ll probably need to remove the driver’s CV axle heat shield to get decent access up there. It may be one of those things you’ll spend a little time up top and down below.



    It’s directly above the axle and the subframe is close.

    I do not have small forearms haha. I guess the bottom makes the most sense, and probably disconnecting the axle from the flange.

    I think from underneath is the play. A few years ago I had to mess with the slave after a motor pull and turbos. And I messed with and finally got it from above. But getting access from below will be easier. Definitely remove the axle shield.
