    2008 S5 DTC Codes P2006 & P2014

    Hello everyone! I'm a new owner of a 2008 Audi S5

I'm also new to this world of performance vehicles and am so glad there are helpful people out there like you to help newbies like me fix simple to complex problems with their cars.

My car is storing DTC codes P2006 (Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Closed Bank 1) and P2014 (Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor/Switch Circuit Bank 1)

I took the car into a local shop (not a fan of that shop after that visit) and they informed me that the entire assembly is known to fail and would need to be replaced for $1,300 USD.

I took the car home and did some more digging into these codes and my guess would be that the sensor itself is what really needs to be replaced, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

These codes were not pulling until after I DIY'd a carbon clean and got everything back together again. I may have damaged the sensor that's now causing these codes. These codes instantly return after being cleared from the system.

    What are your thoughts?

I know Audi revised this system sometime in 2008 in favour of vacuum actuation. If you have the vacuum actuators for the flaps then I would bet it is a vacuum leak. If you have the electric motor actuated flaps then I would lean to an electrical fault.

I believe it's using the electric actuators but I can't say for sure. :/

    Edit:
I do have the electric version. My brother found a few threads elsewhere that blame the runner control motor to be the cause of the issue.

The change to the vacuum actuated system was start of Nov '08. So if your month/year on your door sticker (door or door jamb) is 10 08 or earlier, you'll have the electrical system.

The bigger change about the move from the electrical to the vacuum is the separation of the flaps from the supercharger.

Here is the through Oct '08 look - https://audi.7zap.com/en/usa/audi+a5.../1/133-133082/
25 is the motor and 23 are the angle sensors

Here is the since Nov '08 look - https://audi.7zap.com/en/usa/audi+a5.../1/133-133083/
a much cleaner supercharger config, and

showing the new lower manifolds and the vacuum actuation

I recall some time back some thread on the pre-Nov08 style here or at AW where one of the flap blades became dislodged and blocked movement of the runner. Being all integrated, not sure how he eventually resolved the issue.
