Manuel gear. Little hard to get in reverse and 1st gear

    Hallo

What could it be, if the car is starting to get a little harder , to get in 1st an reverse ?

I got the oil consumption problem fixed, 2000km ago, and at the same time a new clutch and flywheel/bearing.
I know the mechanic had the gearbox out of the car.

    It's a 2015 B8.5 150.000km on the clock.

    Thanks

you can check and inspect the shift linkage, pull out the shift lever and inspect the push/pull rods. Sometimes a little cleaning and lube goes a long way. Otherwise at 150,000 km your syncros are wearing out and that's normal. Reverse is not synchronized normally so it seems unrelated to age and more to the linkage. Put fresh gear oil in if not already new. I used to put the equivalent of Redline MT-90 in my Mazda 323 GTX which had a glass box of a transmission with great results.

Thanks. I hope its the shift linkage then. Is it hard to take apart ?

Here is the assembly: make sure #4 is free of corrosion and gunk. I don't think its necessary to take the shift boot apart yet.

Does it do this when it's cold? You might just need fresh gear oil as previously suggested. If you haven't changed it before I would do so regardless, I just had mine changed with OEM fluid at the dealership and it's much easier to get into gear especially with these cold winter temperatures.

i would stick with OEM fluids for this job , it is designed to work across many climates.. I have heard stories of redline being a nightmare in colder climates.

I have really good results using Ravenol fluids in my A4 B6 as well as my A5 B8 manually transmissions. Could feel an immediate improvement. Clicky click®
