    O2 codes, supercharged, catless

    So yeah. Allroad 4.2, but I get more info out of this forum

    I expect to throw codes being boosted, tuned, and catless. Weirdly I got code 0056 “heater control circuit” on a newish bosch sensor

    Then the code disappeared after a couple hundred miles or a month I dunno. I checked the saved codes, and got the expected 0159, 0160, “not warming up, not responding” codes as well as the 056. Normal for no cats and sensor extensions, but I dunno how the heater circuit failed and then fixed itself, though

    I’m not concerned and figure I just need to change a sensor every 6 mo or so, bc mod life. Just wondering if anyone had more info or experience. I have vcds, I but I don’t know what I’d be looking for to find out more

    The heater control circuit for the O2 sensors is just one of the four wires, right? Maybe it’s just stressed / pinched / nicked / corroded at the contact? Those things are so fussy

    That’s my understanding one (or two counting the common ground?)

    I suppose the wire could suddenly get better contact. Unless something upstream in the wiring could fail to fire the circuit? Or something else fails to pick up the signal? (Ecu, I guess)

    I did fool with the wires on both ends. Maybe I “fixed” something

    Maybe just the act of purchasing a new sensor was enough karma to turn the light off :)

    When I replaced mine with bosch units I had a dead heater circuit on one of them exchanged it under warranty and its been good since.

    Best guess is that something was loose or some crud got on the sensor that cleared up overtime. either way self fixing Audi's are rare.
