Can I just change the digit indicated or do I subtract a given value from my number and then add a different number?
    If you are attempting to change your seatbelt chime, read the "Appendix 1" portion carefully and multiple times. I am not trying to be condescending but I spent hours reading about VAGCOM and these basic mods before I attempted them (Type A, perfectionistic personality). ALWAYS write down your original codes before changing any.

    Try at your own risk,
    but if 0023268 was your original code, you could try 0023258 (for NAR old) or 0023208 to eliminate all notifications. If that does not work, I am moving outside my comfort level but you could try either 0023251 or 0023201.

    Separately, module 46 changes are simply additions and subtractions to your existing code. The existing code can vary from car to car.

    Solid advice from doughbuy17. Ignore the part of the screen shot directions that tell you to replace the complete number. If you haven't - revert the coding to your original number. Then look at this chart again:

    Disable Seatbelt Chime
    Module 17 (Instruments), recode to ###Z1, where:

    Z = Warning Type
    0 – Disabled
    1 – Europe NCAP – Visual indicator always on, audio chime for 91 seconds active
    2 – USA & Canada NAR Old – Visual indicator & audio chime for 6 seconds at startup
    3 – USA & Canada NAR New – Visual indicator on, audio chime every 30 seconds
    4 – Europe NCAP including front passenger seat
    5 – USA & Canada NAR Old including front passenger seat
    6 – USA & Canada NAR New including front passenger seat (North American B7 default)

    You want to go to your restored number and edit ONLY the second digit from the right (the "Z" digit). I changed mine to zero to completely disable it.
