I had these as brights on my 79 caprice. Holy hell did they light up the road!

With that said we don't want some of the EU regulations concerning emissions like OPF/GPF which make the cars sound terrible. We still have some safety items like airbags and seat belts that are North American specific.

The lighting however the US has always been behind on and the regulations do not produce better lighting for North America unfortunately. In the 80's and 90's, even into the early 2000's, North American Audi headlights were downright dangerous compared to the European headlights.
Look at the last version of the Countash. Those bumpers were appalling.

The NHTSA has already put forwards a set of guidelines already which are far more strict than the worldwide standard that governs the matrix functionality. Current matrix headlight technology physically cannot meet the proposed NHTSA regulations.
So, this 'activation' is essentally an illegal modification on a USA car.

I believe radar detectors are illegal in Virginia and Canada. I could be incorrect, but to the best of my recollection.

I believe you’re correct, though some have contested citations and have come out on top when arguing that they only receive signal and not emit. On my comment I was referring to Commiefornia (surprisingly).

If anyone is on the fence with doing this. pull the trigger. I have had this for about 5 months and its amazing. I am just blown away at how the lights adapt to my surroundings. this is a must....

Received the VAS interface this afternoon and was able to schedule an appointment with Sam immediately. The matrix lights along with blue laser and maneuver lights were activated in less than 15 minutes. Took the RS6 for a test drive this evening and was simply amazed!!
