    Matrix Headlights Fully Enabled

Reach out to “Sam” on WhatsApp. +86 139 2997 4073. Confirmed fully functioning by at least two RS6s in this community :)

    Mention “BDDDWGN” for a discount!

You will need a VAS5054A/VAS6154 and a Windows Laptop to get it done.

I’ll see if I can get a video posted up.

    Cheers!

I’m completely techno-ignorant and would need a literally step-by-step vidéo/instruction sheet to do this. I’m afraid I’m gonna screw up something just plugging into the diagnostic system.

I reached out to Sam a long time ago.

He helped me to enable the matrix on my 2021 RS7 and Q8.
The matrix works really well and it really worth the $$.

    This function is a must!

Does this also enable full laser light high beams?

They will work as long as the car does not detect cars or people in the path of your vehicle.

Laser is a separate function from Matrix Lighting

This. The only time I have seen mine come on is when it's completely dark with no ambient light or traffic around.

When they come on you can tell and you get an indicator light on the cockpit display.

Anywho. Sooooo, group buy on matrix enablement??

Does anyone know if Canada has Matrix headlights enabled stock? The Canadian order guide specifically said "Matrix headlights" and I know the auto high-beam and laser high beam all work on their own.

First time laser activated I was like wtf is that icon. The laser high beams are super helpful in pitch black on rural roads. Them + nightvision really makes me feel more comfortable driving at night in the middle of nowhere.

My assumption from talking to Sam is, you can maybe get a deal if you are doing a couple cars at the same time in the same location. Whatever that is worth.

Forgive my ignorance. Assuming we aren't going to be with Sam in person and instead will go to someone else to source the factory scan tool (and windows laptop for good measure), what are we "purchasing" from him? The coding instructions I assume? If that's the case wouldn't a group discount be in procuring the coding instructions? And Leave the labor costs to be dealt with individually? I've refrained from reaching out to him in the meantime while @jetta3vr6 wrangled the group

It is totally fine if you want to reach out to him. I talked with him he said $700 for the headlight update. We would have to buy a vas 5054A scan tool to install the update as well you need a windows pc. They provide a 90gig file and do the update to the the drivers assist module. Says it takes about 40 minutes to install. He said they had to pay a lot of money for the factory file from an Audi engineer and had to pay a lot for the files. Maybe we can get a discount though since there are a lot of interested people, I will reach out to him now.

I just had Sam flash the matrix lights on my car last night (as well as remove component protection from/calibrate my night vision system, which I retrofitted in). I will post videos and explain more later today, but figured I would just clarify some things now.

Yes you have to source the VAS5054a yourself (although Sam can connect you with someone you can rent it from). You are not purchasing the coding instructions from him per se. In that case only one person would have to purchase the instructions and then distribute them, honesty notwithstanding.
What you are paying Sam for is the know-how and labor (as far as I know, nobody else is offering to provide this service remotely). You just give him remote access to your computer, plug the cable in, and watch. He downloads and installs the necessary software onto your computer (which takes time itself given it's a large download) and performs the flash. It is not an extremely straightforward process, and I like the idea that someone who really knows what they are doing is doing it (and Sam definitely does - the night vision coding he did for me was not easy).

So Sam still has to spend time scheduling with each person, installing the software on each person's computer, and flashing each car. How he wants to work out a possible discount considering that is up to him. But it's not as easy from a time/labor standpoint for him as it might seem. He's probably willing to discount multiple cars in the same location at the same time because he then only has to set up one computer and can knock out all the cars in one block of time.

I'll ask him what he can do.

I'll post more of an explanation tonight when I pull the video from my dash cam showing them working, but I am very happy to finally have it enabled given I live in a very rural area right now.
I had matrix lights enabled on my F80 M3 and desperately missed having them.
