Matrix Headlights Fully Enabled

I'm late to the party unfortunately. Is there anyone in MA that can help me out with this? Willing to pay for the help!! I am not good with this stuff and would be super nervous doing anything myself...

I was nervous but it’s super easy and Sam will walk you through each step. As long as you have the cable and a laptop that’s connected to the internet you’re set. You will download a program that allows access to your laptop when you give Sam the passwords. Then you connect the laptop to the car and Sam does the rest. There’s a lot of turning the car and lights off and on but again he’ll tell you what to do. Laptop must have Window 10 or better.

Not to take any business away from anyone doing the conversion right now, but it might be that you will be able to have your local Audi dealer do it for you before too long. I find this to be pretty exciting news.

Exactly! We could see years up to a decade for the relevant Executive agency to adopt the new legislation, considering no legal challenges and regulatory approvals, and OEMs to implement. For cars with the technology currently, this legislation will not make it a simple software update at the dealership next month, I would be skeptical if OEMs ever bring an update for those cars. New model years in time, for sure.

A hard date (maximum of two years) is imposed in the legislation. Granted, I know this doesn't guarantee it actually happens...politicians and all as you mentioned but I am hoping once it comes to pass this can be enabled via OTA update. Else, first service appointment after legalization I will ask.

It’ll be rare that an update will overwrite things, but if that happens, the reprogramming is covered by Sam’s warranty.

It won’t affect your Audi warranty.

How do you know it won't affect the Audi Warranty?
Also while I'm posting ...
Can Sam code out things like "front collision warning"? What about start/stop to be set too "off" position after a restart?

I'm waiting on allocation, but already planning things.

I was told it's not possible without hardware. There's an ODB dongle that can do it or switch the operation of the button.

For front collision warning you’re probably referring to pre sense which can be turned of in the mmi. For auto start stop most of the rs6 owners that wanted that off bought the module from “car media tech” in Australia that piggy backs to the can bus under the rear bench seat. That disables it upon start and allows you to turn back on using the soft button on the bottom mmi screen if you want it on. Module costs about $100 with shipping and takes about 30 min to install. 100% worth it. Takes a few weeks to arrive though so would order a month or so before delivery to have it right away.

Thank you, I tried googling the "car media tech" and came up with nothing.

After turning off the Front Collision Warning, would it stay off after the next stop/start cycle?

yes its called "pre sense" in the mmi and i believe the settings are saved based on the key user. so just make sure you select your name profile when you start the car and the settings should all be saved based on the key you use.
