I just had Sam flash the matrix lights on my car last night (as well as remove component protection from/calibrate my night vision system, which I retrofitted in). I will post videos and explain more later today, but figured I would just clarify some things now.
Yes you have to source the VAS5054a yourself (although Sam can connect you with someone you can rent it from). You are not purchasing the coding instructions from him per se. In that case only one person would have to purchase the instructions and then distribute them, honesty notwithstanding.
What you are paying Sam for is the know-how and labor (as far as I know, nobody else is offering to provide this service remotely). You just give him remote access to your computer, plug the cable in, and watch. He downloads and installs the necessary software onto your computer (which takes time itself given it's a large download) and performs the flash. It is not an extremely straightforward process, and I like the idea that someone who really knows what they are doing is doing it (and Sam definitely does - the night vision coding he did for me was not easy).
So Sam still has to spend time scheduling with each person, installing the software on each person's computer, and flashing each car. How he wants to work out a possible discount considering that is up to him. But it's not as easy from a time/labor standpoint for him as it might seem. He's probably willing to discount multiple cars in the same location at the same time because he then only has to set up one computer and can knock out all the cars in one block of time.
I'll ask him what he can do.
