Flushing Brakes - Best Brake Fluid For Street Use?

    Hey Guys,

Per the subject, I am looking for some recommendations on quality brake fluid to use for my upcoming brake flush. If I recall correctly, the last time I did a flush I ended up using Motul RBF600. However, I am open if there is new recommended fluid by most people.

    Usage:
My car is a daily driver / street-car. No track or super crazy driving usually.

Any recommendations for a quality brake fluid to use? TIA.

    Thanks,
    Asif

I'd just buy a quart of Valvoline or other name-brand DOT4, and call it a day.

Yea, Pep Boys sells a good German DOT 4 by the liter. Buy two just in case. But honestly, any DOT 4 from a fresh sealed container is what you want.

This. For the most part DOT fluid is DOT fluid. You only pay more for the name as they all have to meet the same requirements. "street" isn't exactly taxing on a vehicle. You have bigger problems if you manage to get brake fade during your drive to work or the store.

Use fresh stuff from a reputable company. Brake fluid is hydroscopic and will draw in moisture from the air around it. Water boils lower than brake fluid and that's not good when you need brakes.

    I bet a new RS6 comes with DOT4.
But you're always gonna have that one guy "Muh 20 year old $3k base model. Power doesn't activate until 3600 RPM. My engine is smaller than a soda bottle. The car is heavy and understeers. I Need Track Parts."
