I've been putting these things together for a while for front and rear brake upgrades. I went with the tried and true ML55 345mm rotors and 18zs for the front with B7 S4 rear calipers over D3 A8L 310mm rear rotors.

18z front upgrades have a few how-to's around so this is in no way a how-to. Just some pics of what I did on my allroad.

Here's my fronts after I cleaned, and painted them. I had a mishap after painting them(pistons weren't empty, leaked brake fluid overnight) and the paint got messed up. Oh well.

Messed up paint on the caliper.

Anyway, no pics of the stock front brakes because nobody wants to see that. Removed the front brakes, left caliper still connected but dangling to remove after everything was on to not lose as much brake fluid as I would otherwise. This is what I had:

Ground down on the upright/spindle/wheel bearing housing.

Then fit up the ML55 rotor(after clearancing the inner hub bore to fit), caliper and my spacer(bolt on)

Did the other side.

Then I moved onto the rears. Ew.

Removed all of the rear brake components, and compared the rear rotors.

I did bend the rear shroud at the ends so it wouldn't foul on the caliper bracket. Then installed the rear rotors.

Then the brackets and calipers went on next.
.

I used my motive brake bleeder with the key on and bled all four from the right rear to the left front(furthest to closest). Pedal is noticeably firmer and after a test drive it takes less distance to stop from 50 to 0.

Front brakes behind 19s. Wheel specs are 19x9.5 et40 with 25mm front and 30mm rear spacers.

Rears behind the 19s

Full side shot. Sorry, overcast day and it was starting to get dark.
