Question Does your B9 A5/S5/RS5 have vertical scratches on its window tint?

I saw this thread going on over on Audiworld but can’t find any reference to same issue here on Audizine, so I’m curiously opening the floor to the same question. I’ve had my 2021 RS5 coupe tinted for about a month and both sides are scratched to hell already. I went to a reputable shop that does tint for neighboring Ferrari/Bentley/Lamborghini dealerships and dropped $700~ on Madico Black Pearl Nano Ceramic. This is my first Audi and needless to say I find this shit infuriating; it’s not something I’ve experienced with the two other German luxury brands that shall not be named.

It seems like the issue narrows down to audi’s choice of window liner and very fine sand/gravel becoming trapped, thus causing damage to (very expensive) films.

Thats funny, I bought a 2018 Audi A5 3 months ago that was already tinted and both front windows have vertical scratches. I thought they used cheap tint and was going to retint but after this thread not sure i want to

Interesting, I got scratches on my tint as well on my 2021 S5. Thought it had something to do with it not having window frames or something. All my previous cars were sedans.

However, I took my usual window cleaner to them and with some elbow grease they went away. Came back a couple times after that but haven't seen them since my last cleanup of them.

That's what I thought at first. I could run my nails over them and feel it. Did you try rubbing them with a microfiber and your favorite cleaner?

Mine are pretty deep apparently. I thought it was dirt/grease at first. Took to them with a microfiber cloth and the ammonia-free cleaner the tint place recommended. Nothing changed. Guess we’re not allowed to roll the windows down on our $60,000+ cars…

No problem with mine, so far. I've had it on for about 3 months. Not sure of the brand, but I think it might be something called FLEXfilm, and it is a nano ceramic film. Curious if you have problems only on front door windows, or any place else?

Have a 2021 RS5, purchased in January. No scratches on my tinting at this point.

Have the same problem. I'll try the microfiber and see what that changes. Thanks for the tip!

2018 RS5 with tint and the vertical scratches. Have not tried to buff out, but suspect they are too deep.
