    HPTuners MPVI3 does not fit B8 without…

    …an OBDII extension plug. Or removing the plug from the trim.

    The device is simply too wide to fit past the plastic trim in order to plug into the OBD port; it's much wider than my IE PowerLink, OBDeleven or RossTech devices and my buddy’s 034 tool.


    There is so much good DIY info here for this device, it’s surprising that I did not come across this little tidbit here already. Maybe it’s buried deep in someone’s build thread, but Forum and Google searches showed zilch. This is in my '16 allroad.

    Make sure to get something quality - not your typical $3.99 Wish special, since you will be writing to your ecu, rather than just pulling codes. I went with this one made by bbfly I picked up from Amazon because they explicitly state that it uses no shared grounds.
