    Replace exhaust tips

Has anyone replaced their exhaust tips on the stock mufflers? What did it entail? What tips did you use?

I really liked the look of the awe tips but the exhaust had too much drone so I put stock back on and got a front resonator delete. Now I like the sound but wish I had the better look.

Here for an answer as well. I know that it is doable as I’ve seen people do this before. I am assuming it will require welding. If anyone has done it at home with no welding and gotten good results post em up!

After looking a little deeper I found some tips from ECS that are described as “direct fit”. It looks like they literally slip over the existing tips. My concern is that you can still see chrome depending on the angle you look at it, and how far away you are standing when looking. Interested if anyone has these and how they like them.

Yeh it took me a minute to figure out how it was single tip without any modding necessary. They do look good though.

On S cars, they are welded on, so to replace them you can have a shop weld new ones. That is the only way to replace them

Someone in the forums welded on new tips. Can’t seem to find where I saw that though. Would like to see more examples of people doing this though. I did it on my e90 BMW and it was a tasteful upgrade without having to buy a full exhaust.
