    2021 S model orders

Hi! Does anyone know whether Audi USA is still accepting orders for S models (specifically, the SQ5, no exclusive paint or interior)? Or has anyone ordered an SQ5 or something similar this month (March 2021)? I’m getting conflicting info from multiple dealers in my area.

I was recently in discussion with AoA's Manager of the Audi exclusive team regarding custom paint options, specifically the Q5/SQ5, and this was his comment from March 10th...

The [Audi exclusive paint] option is no longer available for ordering on the MY21 models and will resume on the MY22s in a few months.

Thanks, Anthony! Appreciate that info. Dealer said he had changeable SQ5 orders (likely for the last arrivals of the MY?). Is it weird to already have a commission number on the order sheet the day the order is placed if it’s a “changed” order?

Also, no deposit and no paperwork seems very weird. It was all an email exchange that ended with this: “The next step is to wait for the order to be placed in production. Since these orders were newly created, I do not have a production week as of yet. Your email has been attached to the comm number and you should receive emails about the progress of your SQ5.” That seems like big news of Audi now has email alerts for production progress. I remember it being super hard to get a status.

Yeah, if their order is already in the system then they should already a commission number. There's a window where they can edit the order before it hits the production line.

It's most likely a MY21 since you're not doing an Audi exclusive paint or anything.

Most dealers will want a deposit, usually $500 refundable, but it's not unheard of that they wouldn't request that from you if it's not some crazy build (IE a less popular color or options package).
