As Chris mentioned in another thread, I'm for 15mm front and 20mm rear. With the 20's, that is spot-on.

I have OEM 20s, ABT HAS installed and 15 mm spacers in the front, 20mm in the rear and honestly I'd go a bit wider. Probably 20 in the front and 25-30 in the rear.

Hi there, new (well soon to be) B9 SQ5 owner

Thanks for the pics and suggestion but I personally wouldn’t go wider then what you have. That’d be too much poke for me.

Yep, I run 15/20 with the 21's which are ~10mm more aggressive than the 20's. But I run enough negative camber to flush them.

    https://www.flickr.com/photos/919992...posted-public/

With the 20's and a medium drop, 15/20 gets you just shy of flush which is what most prefer.

So the ABT springs have been installed for a week.

The front wheel arch is at 29 1/5” and the rear is at 30 1/8”.

Looks sharp! What brand are you all using on your Audis? I did H&R but I wasn't sure if there were other good options.

For the spacers? Those are from @Mops@Nemesis. The spacers are made in the USA and the zinc-plated bolts are made in Italy.

Yes for spacers. I'm curious how they compare to H&R?

I mean, spacers aren’t exactly rocket science. It’s just an aluminum disk with some holes in it.

You just need to watch out for cheap ones that aren’t flat/true.

And make sure that you get the proper length bolts with the correct seat- ball for OE or tapered for aftermarket.

I was actually surprised to see that the OE Audi wheel bolts had floating ball seats that spun freely. Pretty cool.

Indeed. How are you liking the ABT HAS so far? I'm running that kit too.

I love it. The car looks 100x better and handles a lot more more like a sport sedan then a SUV.

I picked up a JB4 with the BT module from the classifieds (Thanks @chris.green). I use 93 so it's set to Map3.

    Holy shit!

I knew it would be faster, I had a JB1 on our Golf R that added about 45hp, but this is unreal. The SQ5 now throws you into the seat hard. The car is properly quick now. Burger says Map3 on 93 adds 60-70hp and I believe it. It's probably now as fast as the Golf R with the 034 tune, if not faster.

100% agree, liked my SQ5 from the first day but after the ABT springs installed now it's sports car disguised as an SUV.

My next mod is most likely the 034 Tune

I forget if you are running a tune also?

I still wish I could get smoother shifts out of my 2018 SQ5. It's rough as hell, with and without a tune. Downshifts are still slow to respond and when they do it is rough getting started in gear (usually 2nd or 3rd).

    No other tune.

The only rough shift I ever get is an occasional 2 into 1 at really slow speeds.

Sweet. Yeah sorry. With kids climbing on me I don't always have time to read back terribly far. If I remember correctly the transmission changed around 20-21. Is that right? Wish I could get the 2018 smoother. But at this point it probably is what it is.

The only substantive change I'm aware of for the 21+ cars is that Audi shortened 1st-5th gear.

I thought the transmission went to a dual clutch in 2020. I'm fairly certain mine is not. It can't be honestly the way it performs.

Got the car back from the dealer yesterday to do the central gateway TSB and re-calibrate my front camera after the windshield replacement.

The JB4 went back in and I finally installed the Roc-Euro intake. TURBO SOUNDS!!!!!

Just picked up a 22 SQ5 Sportback and ordered the JB4, I used to have a JB4 for my N54 335i but install involved popping pins in the harness and such. It looks like this install is as simple as two easy plugs w/ the Bluetooth adaptor? Is this true, pretty easy install?

Btw. Car looks awesome, love the green!

    Thanks!

Yea, it’s pretty simple by comparison. There are 4 connections under the hood and also a cable that runs to the OBD2 port. Frankly, running the cable for the OBD2 port is the most troublesome but still not as bad as hacking harnesses and plugs.

The 4 connections under the hood are:
    MAP
    TMAP
    BCM (Boost Control Module)
    Fuel Pressure Sensor

If you are only going to run E91 or E93 then you you only need the MAP and TMAP under the hood.

Some people have reported better throttle response by connecting the Boost Controller but it’s only required if running more aggressive maps or larger turbos. The fuel pressure sensor is only used if you are mixing E85.

I have all 4 installed because I didn’t want cables just hanging around in the engine bay.

The OBD2 plug is required and you have to run it through the firewall but there is a spot that’s easy enough to use.

I would definitely opt for the Bluetooth module. It lets you adjust maps on the fly and it does logging and love reporting. I had the serial cable for the JB1 on my wife’s Golf R and it was a pain to haul out a laptop to use it.

I don’t have access to e85 where I am so I would only be running 93 octane. I may do the same thing to avoid hanging cables. I ordered the Bluetooth option as well!

Easy enough though to reverse for dealer visits? I don’t wanna be spending hours under the hood to uninstall every time I’m there. My time is limited as is.

Yea, it takes about 10 minutes to remove once you get the hang of it.

I just took my car in last week and pulled the JB4 prior to the visit. I left the OBD2 cable run through the firewall. I just tucked the plug up in the trim in the footwell to hide it and left the other end bundled up under the rain tray so it was out of view.

The box and harness I completely pulled out of the car.

    Thanks.

    That’s not a light, it’s a camera.
