Today I put in the Weathertech rear seat cover and rear seat hammock in for Juniper so she could go for her first ride in the new car.

My OBDEleven showed up on Saturday and I made some coding adjustments. The 1-click apps are pretty cool.

I was going to upgrade my Ross-Tech Micro-CAN VCDS interface but it was gonna be $150 for the new HEX interface and I had to pay to ship my old cable back. I got the OBDEleven Pro for $80 after using some credit I had at shopdap with free shipping. I had also been accumulating free credits in it for a while, built up a little over 100 and the Pro came with another 200.

I’ve been playing around with the OBDEleven and it’s not bad.

The 1-click apps seem to mostly work with a few exceptions.

These did work:
- Lock/Unlock Acoustic Confirmation (enabled the double beep on unlock)
- Gear Display (changed to “D on/S on”)
- Soundaktor (changed to “OFF”)
- Seat Heating 2 (changed to “+5C/41F”)
- Comfort Turn Signals (changed to “4”)
- Auto Unlock After P (changed to “OFF”)


These did not work:
- Refuel Quantity in Dashboard (changed to “ON”)
- Acceleration Display (changed to “ON”)
- Speedometer Extended Scale Divisions (changed to “ON”)

The Acceleration Display did turn on but it didn’t do anything. It also would only appear in one place on one of the digital dash modes. I’m going to just disable.

I might have to turn the Soundaktor back on until I get the resonator deleted. While you can hear the exhaust with the windows down it’s barely audible.

The OBDeleven app is v1.6.0.

I got Cravenspeed to get me sorted out with one of their Platypus tow hook plate mounts. They don’t yet have a fitment for the B9/9.5 but with the 9.5 there is no drilling.







The first stud they sent was way too long. This one is a tad too short but I think it looks good so I’m gonna stick with it.

I couldn't handle the asymmetry here either. I'm a cancer and strive for the same things. I'd rather have holes in my bumper and not draw unnecessary attention to the plate.

I vote no front plate. Chance it, if you get the fixit ticket, throw it back on to get signed off, then run plateless again... then again, I've always been a bit of a rebel.

I picked up the car today from the shop that installed the ABT H.A.S. kit and 034Motorsport trans insert. I had them set the height to the lowest setting without causing any clearance issues.

I couldn't be more thrilled with how it looks. I'm going to give the springs a week or so to settle but I'm thinking I'll pick up some spacers, 5mm front and 10mm should do it.

The ride quality is really good. Maybe a touch bumpier in dynamic but comfort is still nice. The car also stays much flatter in curves/turns. Even my wife mentioned that she doesn’t feel thrown around in her seat in hard cornering anymore.

The shop re-calibrated my headlights but I have noticed that my parking sensors are quite a bit more sensitive around curbs. Not that big a deal though.

I drove a bit more today, the suspension is a little bumpier in comfort mode but still rides well. Dynamic is really good now. There is so much less body roll in sharp cornering which means less getting tossed around inside.

For comparison, the wife's Golf R is stock ride height.
