    Tire Size for 2025 S5

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys,

I'm finally back in an Audi after 10 years and happy to be back! Picked up a 2025 S5 this weekend and it has the 20 inch wheels that comes with 265/30/20 summer wheels. I live in Westchester, NY and looking to put on winter tires and wanted to confirm if it's ok to put on 275/30/20's....I believe these wheels are 9 inch width. I searched a little, but couldn't exactly find what I was looking for. Pics for reference....

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Lol....why is that? Figured the 275's are a bit taller, so thought it would be easier for them to fit, no? The 265's are very low profile and are kind of stretched.

They only look stretched because of the sidewall design of the oem tires, the 275s will bulge a lot and the rim is almost too narrow for the tire, realistically a 9 inch wheel in a performance application would run a 255. There are pictures of this setup on this forum somewhere, if you do a quick Google search you should be able to find something

Thanks for this. Yeah, the more I search, the more I'm thinking of just sticking with 265/30/20's. Limited winter tires and all-seasons, so most likely just going to go with Michelin PS All-Season 4's.

Yeah, if you really want to go with a bigger sidewall I'd move to a 255/35r20 or 265/35r20, much better ride, tires are probably cheaper, and they should fit no problem on the stock wheels. Narrower tires work better in snow anyways

A 275/30 is perfectly fine on the 20x9 wheel - many people have done it and I would disagree that it will "bulge a lot." The Conti's run narrow and look anemic on the OE wheels. Here's a thread that may be helpful, one guy even put 275/35's on his BO wheels.

Found more content and thinking I may go 275/30/20, but now you have me thinking on the 265/35/20's, so will see if I find any info on them....thanks!

Yeah, came across a couple of threads on 275/30/20's and think I'm leaning in that direction, but wondering if 265/35/20's could also be a good option....will do some more research...thanks!

I have the 275's on my S5 and they do not look bulged at all and that's with Conti's DWS. There are photos posted on one of the forum's. They look just fine on my car. Discount Tire has a chart for what tires will fit and 275 was the max.

There are tons of threads about this, I only know because I looked before putting 275/30 as4s on my s5. No bulge at all. Looks way better than the contest. The dude giving you bad info its a pretty standard upgrade.

Yeah, as I searched more last night, I came across a few other posts that made me comfortable to go with 275/30/20 Conti DWS's, as I've had the DWS's on my last couple of cars. I ordered them last night, but they are on back order, but my shop will be locating 4 tires separately.....hope to have them on by next week. Thanks again for the replies.

Yeah the contis have been on back order for a while. Costco has the as4s for 1295 installed atm so not much more than the contis. I will say the oem contis were super quiet will miss that.

Yeah, I'm loving how quiet these summer Conti's are.....amazing. The Michelin AS4's are a bit more squared off than what I'm looking for....I like the rounded sidewalls of the Conti DWSO6's. Do you have any pics of your setup that you can post?

Yeah understandable, I swapped to michies maybe 10 years ago and have been happy so have just stuck with them. I did really like the audi conti summers though they were super quiet.

What tire pressure do you have it set to? On door panel, it recommends 45psi for the 265/30's....I increased to 45psi this morning on the 275/30's and it rides much harsher.

The door sticker for tire pressures are the pressures recommended when the car is being used with the maximum weight capacity. Typically the "normal" tire pressure will be less. The ride will be harsh at 45 psi.
