Question Engine Doesn't Start: Codes P2295 and P129C - Need your help

Engine doesn't start. It cranks but doesnt turn over/on.

Pulled codes: P2295 Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve (N276)
P129C Fuel Pressure Regualtor Valve Bank 2 (N276)

Also warning on dash: "Maximum engine speed 4000 RPM"

I checked the fuses and all seem good. I looked at the wiring and the plugs to the HPFP and they look normal.
I cant run measuring blocks because it doesnt allow me to, the VCDS "Measuring Blocks" button is faded, cant click on it.

Any ideas? Which HPFP should i replace first? Or can i replace just the fuel pressure sensor and use the same pump? Do you think this is a Cam Follower worn out problem? Please advise.

Have you checked the fuel pump relays?

    hey, thanks for the help.

Yes, i checked all the relays as per the manual instructions. I gave up so i towed it to my mechanic.
He discovered that there are more relays on the left side of engine compartment, plastic box. A couple or relays 645 were not operating as they should. so he changed them and now its working great.

I realize you've already fixed the issue, but just for future reference, in newer VCDS and for modules that use the UDS protocol, Measuring Blocks has been replaced with the Advanced Measuring Values segment. It should be on the bottom-right of the area where you can choose your functions in the main screen once you select a module.

Can anyone tell me if these numbers checkout okay???

I got the car back and fixed that issue of no start at all. Drove great while at the mechanics. Drove it all weekend.

Now it doesnt always start on the first try. It cranks but does start, until i press the gas pedal, then it starts. Once i do this, shut it off, and then try again, then it works. If i go for a ride, and shut it off, wait 10 mins, then it doesnt start on 1st or 2nd try, different everytime.
Until i press gas pedal as its cranking to make it to start.

Probably hpfp next you should replace. Open the oil cap and smell for heavy fuel smell in the oil. If it does smell like fuel it’s time to replace the pumps.

But its strange because they're not throwing a code.

Mine didn't throw a code either. I started getting hard warm starts and like you had to press the gas pedal down for it to start. Once that happen i knew to smell for fuel and long and behold it had a strong smell.
Replace but hpfp with the latest revisions and the car starts fine now. Hope this help.

Most people with hpfp leaks don't have codes, it's mainly the hard starting and fuel smell in oil that tells the tale.
