    Loving these wheels still!

Couple of quick questions for you, Bart.

No spacers, right? They fit like they fit on their own in the pics?
Did you have to buy new lug bolts?
Are your tire sizes the same as the factory 22's? I'm being lazy, I could look that up.
How long did it take to get them?
This is the "step lip", front and rear, right?
Did you ever consider a flat lip about back and step lip up front to make them appear staggered? Or would that look stupid?
How are they holding up so far? Finish, bends, etc....

These aren’t the lightest but a little lighter than stock. HRE R101LW is probably one of the lightest.

I am not after a weight saving on the whole car, I am after the lightest wheels because that's ride comfort. Roads here from where I from are really really bad - the lighter the wheel, the better ride comfort and the better handling I would get.

Are lighter wheels with very low profile tires, even forged, more prone to bends on less than ideal roads?

I’ll let the pic do the talking. Mine are forged monoblocks and extremely strong. Still no clue what I hit but it went from full to 0 in seconds. Neither the wife nor I heard or saw anything. With only a little divot like that after the blow out...speaks to their strength imho

I guess my expectations are pretty low... I've seen forged wheels bend at the track hitting dips at the end of track out curbing, etc... Hell, I was instructing a guy in a Lambo who hit a small divot off the outside of the track setting up for his turn in, and bent the crap out his right rear forged wheel.

Wouldn't stop me from running them on the street, but I guess I'm not counting on not having a problem with a forged wheel that has 2 inches of tire sidewall and running around on less than perfect roads. I really wish we could run more sidewall on these cars. 20's would be perfect.

There are different types of forged wheels - some prefer to pay USD3,000 for a replica made in China, which may look like a branded wheel.

There are obviously different types and degrees of the damage - some of those would break any rim, forged or not.

    - No spacers, correct.
    - Wheels have ball seat to accomodate OEM lugs.
    - Factory sizes, Conti tires.
    - 4 weeks from concept to delivery.
    - Step lip, correct.
    - Did not consider, BC however has the option. The width of the wheels is the same (10.5) but the lip sizes are different because of the offsets, so they do appear staggered. (61.35mm front lip / 80.4mm rear) Love the look.
    - Good as new.. only 1000 miles on them - Florida roads ;)

Apologies in advance... I'm copying your setup. I think you came up with all the right stuff when it comes to using the stock wheel sizing, offsets for a flush fit, lip style (step over flat)/size (bigger out back), flush face instead of register, etc.

They're perfect for this car. I especially like the mock staggered look while still being a square tire setup. You get the appearance while maintaining proper fit and handling. Rotating gets more complicated with complete dismounts, but hey... There's got to be a compromise somewhere and that's not a deal breaker for me.

I am doing a different color center and hardware though so if we see each other in Florida, we don't be complete Winn Dixiie twins :)

How low do you actually run your car? I assume this height was just for the pics? I'm -25mm w the CETE. Not slammed, but definitely a lowered appearance. The ride is not as a good as stock, but is still compliant enough in comfort mode.

Ignorant question: Are forged wheels softer than cast? Are the stock RS6 wheels cast? I ask because I live in the NY Metro world of potholes and soft wheels don't survive long.

Stock are cast. I don’t know about softer vs harder but forged are stronger and generally lighter because they can use less material to obtain the strength.
