Currently driving a 2018 Q7 with Bose audio and is about to pick up a 2021 Q7. I see the 2021 all comes standard with B&O audio now. Does anyone knows whats the difference? Is the standard B&O that comes with the car better then the Bose?

Pretty much anything is better than Bose when it comes to audio. I've had Bose systems in a 2005 A6 and a 2014 Q7 and it's the only thing I disliked about both vehicles. They were both my wife's car and she is literally deaf in one ear so it didn't bother her at all. I've never actually listened to a B&O system in an Audi so I have no opinion.

I have 21 SQ7 with B&O and never heard Bose. B&O sounds OK, but not great. From doing some experiments with it and measuring frequency response in different modes, I came to the conclusion that the weakest point of the system is their proprietary up-mixing algorithm (they always use all speakers/channels to play stereo tracks). So, if you turn off 3D and surround sound effects it sounds reasonably well, but if you want to get the best sound possible from the system you have to feed it with multichannel audio tracks.

The only thing "premium" about any factory sound system is the price they charge. For some reason car manufacturers think that if they throw in a ton of cheap speakers it will somehow make for a great sound system. They are not going to use high quality speakers or amps that will seriously drive up the cost of the car enough so they can make a huge profit from it. If you want great sound in a car, get the cheapest sound option the dealer has to offer and then upgrade it yourself.

So I have a 2017 q7 premium plus with bose and I just bought a 2019 q7 with b&o advanced 3d. Yes I would pay the extra 5k right out of the gate I don't have to do anything to this system ever the base is perfect hits hard and clear as day.
