I wholesaled my sq5 out to a nice local used car shop about 8mos ago. Covid brain. Thought we could reduce the cars and needed to get my daughter into a car. I kept an eye on it and I hadn’t sold. I was close to pulling the trigger to a whole host of cars: cayenne, rs5 sb, model y performance, etc. but none of them really lit the fire like the old sq5. Well, they still had it. Turned out it was a bit tougher than they expected to move a family suv that was lowered. Made the deal this evening. Missed the forum. We’ll find out what they broke but it was inside a showroom for most of the time.

I don't think I have ever heard of that happening before. It would make for an interesting negotiation knowing exactly what they paid for the vehicle. Did you just pay them something akin to a storage fee and return the same amount they paid to you?

Yeah, they probably paid me more than they should have for the car. And, they were motivated to sell. Worked out OK as a "storage fee". On the 2nd time I've bought an old car back -- after 30+ cars. There's something really great about these b8.5. After I take stock of what I *really* ended up, I'll keep tinkering.

And I had a set of 19” bbs for winter.

Had a great drive tonight in some crazy weather. Car is amazing. Handles great, engine and tranny programming is really impossible to find in these days with everything turbocharged and/or hybrid. And the interior quality is top notch. Need to work on the electronics situation.

I re-bought a car once. It was a 1985 GDM BMW M535i. It was 12 years old when I bought it the first time. It needed cosmetic work, but was quite solid and fast, which was handy living in Germany.

After a few years I sold it to get something a bit newer and nicer, but I missed it enough that when I saw it for sale I bought it again for my son to drive. Unfortunately,he blew the engine and we ended up donating it to the parts yard.

I literally just went searching your posts to figure out why I was seeing you talking about ride heights and spring ratings in your most recent thread b/c for all I could recall you’d bailed out of the SQ right after you and I went full dummy (in a good way of course ) on our rides. And what do I find...?! You’re back!!! Lol awesome man... the SQ is a such a fun platform and beast.

Not sure exactly what's next for it from a wheel/suspension POV. Pretty sure I'm trying out ROW SQ5 suspension with my B8s next. Not sure exactly what offset is going to be ideal at that intermediate height.

I've never re-purchased a car I sold, but my girlfriend sold her E24 bimmer last year and after about 3 months of being on Craigslist and various forums, she got an email from the guy she originally bought it from saying he wanted to buy it back – on the very day she sold it to someone else. DOH!
