    B8 S4 seats into B7 Wiring Diagram

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I’ve got 6 on the b8 passenger black plug. Only 5 plugged in to my b7 though. The red one I left hanging though it’s taped up so not shorting or anything.

Yea I’m really baffled by this issue. I’d ignore it but it’s keeping my airbag light on and that really bugs me.

Edit: shot in the dark, but maybe the red wire needs to be grounded?

Huh. I might pull the seat and inspect my wiring then and make sure nothing is shorting and that the wires in the seat aren’t damaged then. Sounds like it’s probably not an issue with my work and possibly a wiring issue I overlooked elsewhere in the seat then. The seat module itself doesn’t require coding right? Just trying to eliminate all causes here…

No, I just swapped mine, no coding. I have thr b8 plugs downstairs, I'll takr pics. I didn't re-pin, I cut and spliced the wires. So the plugs still have length of wire on them. Just to compare, see what varies between you seats and s4 seats. Maybe it'll help?

    I’ll be swapping S4 B8 seats in to S4 B6 tomorrow.
    This still valid ?

Good I don’t have occupancy sensor so nothing to swap over.

A bit different but related topic, is there a DIY for the rear seats ?

Just to close the loop on the issue I was having: big thanks to Jay for clueing me in that the b7 passenger seat occupancy sensor has to be swapped into the b8 seats. I no longer had mine as I sold my seats but I found on one eBay for $35.

The module was plug and play, just had to run a Basic Settings procedure on the occupancy module in VCDS, clear codes, and no more airbag light. So glad I got that dealt with. The airbag light was grating on me having to see it lit up all the time.

Switched mine out over the weekend from my old seats. 8E0 Rev B for mine and 8K0* was on the B8. Didn't need to remove seats, re-adapted, and so far no code. 👍

I installed an 8E0 Rev D model in mine. It was from an ‘08 and my b7 is an ‘08 so I figured it might be “more better” and the rev B. Probably doesn’t matter…

In VCDS you need to log in to the security settings in the airbag module (use the Bosch code in the tooltip) then go to basic settings and select occupancy sensor basic settings from the drop down, then click Go/start/next or whatever it is in the top right of the window. You’ll see the data in the fields change. Then click that top right button again to stop the adaptation then click close the basic settings window. Should be good after that. You’ll probably have to clear codes too.

What codes do you have? Just adding the proper controller and recoding it solved my airbag light.

Can someone describe how to swap the passenger occupancy sensor or the module. Everyone says to simply swap it over but not what it is, where it is, or how. Is it simply plug in play?

I’ve also seen one thread saying that you have to remove the memory control harness and unit from the S4 seats before installing, even if you don’t have memory seat in your b7

When you look under and at the bottom of the seat, you should see either a black or grey box that you swap over

Just swapped the magma red s4 seats in my b7. I see what you meant about swapping the occupancy module, I was overthinking it. It was beyond easy. Thanks man.

Reviving a revived post, anyone know if you can reset the occupancy sensor using OBDeleven?

Or some other less expensive OBD2 interface.

Has anyone gotten the memory function to work and would like to share how? I am starting with dual power standard seats and no memory. Due to rust, I have had to swap out all 4 doors and got some off of an S4 which does have the memory buttons and module. I recently decided that I wanted new seats and picked up some S5 seats off of ebay. I plan on getting the memory function working on the stock A4 seats first so that I know that I have a working base setup, but would like to know how that is going to xfer over to the S5 seats being I have read various things and just wanted a clearer picture of what I am up against as I didn't see anyone mentioning the memory module working before this thread fell silent. Thanks for everyone's hard work and research putting this together just looking to get that last bit in place for this retrofit.
