Allroad coil over conversion to BC

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
What is the correct part number for the BC conversion kit?
What additional parts are needed to install BC on the C5 Allroad?
Any DIY links/instructions for the install?

Is the A6 Avant rear 'hat' (official term?) required? Allroad subframe spacers removed? Other modifications?

Allroad coil over conversion to BC

I got these from coilover depot:

    https://coiloverdepot.com/collection...lovers-br-type

I paid a shop to install but as far as I know no modifications, etc. were necessary. I’m very pleased with the coilovers.

Did you go with the 'standard' Spring Rates: 16K/14K (assume 16 front 14 rear)? Need to specify for daily driver, no track/race. What would be an 'adult' spring rate for the Allroad? Firmer than stock (WAY too soft and Arnott (ditto, under damped), but not 'rattle fillings loose".

I have read 12k mentioned in the posts, assuming that is front? Would rear than be 10 (2k force delta front/back)? In other words, what PAIRS are used 16/14 (factory BC), 14/12 ? 12/10 else?

What are 'swift' springs (need to read up i guess).

And still looking for more input regarding spring rate selection.

I went with standard (16K/14K) due to timing. I needed them asap and swift springs had a 2-3 week build time. This is my daily driver, I really have no complaints with the coilovers and/or spring rates. Very rarely they can get a little bouncy but not so much that I'd consider replacing the springs.

"Swift Springs uses their own produced material that provides a much softer ride with much better handling characteristics. The material produced by Swift Springs is a proprietary steel alloy. It is created in order to maintain the most consistent spring rate throughout the stroke, allow the largest amount of stroke, provide high durability against loss of spring height, and keep the weight down. This provides the maximum in both comfort and handling in a spring. Their spring design involves fewer coils than other springs for a decrease in unsprung weight, and eliminates the chance of coil bind along with increasing the amount of usable stroke. Their metal used for the springs have a quick transient response to react to any road conditions and cause a much smoother ride instead of skipping over the surface. Swift Springs are great for street or competition use and can be tailored to nearly any vehicle or purpose. They provide the most in both performance and comfort possible which makes them an ideal solution for those going coilovers that still want to retain additional comfort. Swift makes only springs which already speaks for itself when it comes to their knowledge and experience with spring manufacturing."
