Eh, its expected with a big build like this...essentially building a new car from the ground up, so issues are definitely going to arise. Rather them all shake out now so when its done its DONE. Clutch issue is an "easy" fix at least. the mfg forgot to include bolts for the disc/flywheel, so we used oem ones...which was 2x as long as the new bolts, thus creating to much distance for the clutch to engage. Dropping the trans and installing the correct bolts today then she should be good!

it did, however the boot that covers the spline on the driveshaft is shredded so that's getting repaired currently as well as waiting on an extended slave (throwing a code for clutch position sensor). BUT, if all things arrive on time, I could have it back by Saturday

Curious to hear how you solve the "clutch position sensor" fault. I have that issue on my swap. I was also wondering if you kept the A4 ABS unit? I am having issues with my swap thinking it is an Auto trans still and I can't seem to recode the ABS to manual and have it stick in VCDS.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Christian at Sittin Pretty Autowerks is a god damn wizard. After 3mo, I am finally picking up the s4 6MT avant. Things have taken longer than expected due to unforeseen issues arising, BUT Christian has been able to have this swap come out flawless. Not a single code, clutch position sensor issue has been resolved, as well as push to start and hatch closure! Car fires up without any hesitation and runs insanely well. Just got her back from exhaust as well. 2 sets of vibrant bottle style resonators, magnaflow center res, and vibrant ultra quiet res out the back into 4” tips

And just like that, 4 long ass months have passed since the beginning of this build. Last night, I finally took er home for good. No codes/faults, and runs like a god damn monster. It’s absolutely dialed front to back. Few minor things left (wireless push start, reverse camera for RSNAV, etc) but I couldn’t be more stoked on how it all finished out. Thanks again to my dawg Christian at Sittin Pretty Autowerks for bringing my dream to reality

Gotten a few weeks of solid driving on er now, what a fucking MONSTER. The pull is insane, and the suspension setup absolutely rips on the canyon roads.

I’ve been tinkering with the exhaust to get it dialed and I’m finally at a spot where I’m very pleased with it. I had to remove two of the vibrant resonators after the downpipes as they hung to low and were scraping often. I was getting a bad vibration from the exhaust when accelerating, so I installed 2 exhaust dampers after the flex pipes and that has helped with vibration/rasp tremendously.

I also swapped interiors with a local dude (panda was a nightmare to keep clean with all of the mountain biking I do), so I now have dark alcantara which I’m stoked on! Also did the rear wiper delete as I didn’t really care to source a q5 stalk. Cleaned the back end up nicely

sold the s5 rotors and replaced with brixton rf7's (19x9.5 ET40 (with 5mm spacer)







cars been running a bit rough, a good amount of vibration under acceleration as well as cabin NVH. realized we went with track density motor mounts rather than street density. replacing those today, as well as swapping the rear diff (we didn't before, thought the final drive gear ratio was the same, its not). fingers cross this gets her running buttery. also installing an rs4 front bumper later this week

rear diff swapped to the proper gear ratio, track density mounts swapped for street density, rs4 bumper installed, forged carbon trim installed. car is running factory smooth and pulling HARD

installed 8mm spacers to bring the offset to ET37 all around. no rubbing, but haven't driven with a full load yet. exhaust saga continues: impatiently awaiting awe touring 102mm+ JHM catted & baffled DPs. sold the custom exhaust (way to loud, started falling apart), currently running stocks resonated dp's + awe touring 90mm (incorrect exhaust was sent and installed)

installed ECS x brace and JHM catted & baffled DP's going into AWE touring exhaust. FINALLY found that deep tone I've been searching for this entire time, while sounding stock in the cabin!

ended up pulling the 8mm spacers and replacing with 10mm due to vibration from not being hub centric. stance is pretty dialed and no rub, and more importantly no more vibration. awe touring 102 goes on next week (pardon the current super poked tips)

Nice. Looks like h&r does offer 8mm hubcentric for 66.56. The 10s actually made the f&r flush to the fender without any rub lowered on coilovers so I’m stoked on that. Setup is 19x9.5 ET35 with 255/35/19 tires

exhaust is DIALED. upgraded the climate control to b8.5. going to run a DAC off the RSNAV this weekend to clear up the audio & increase the BUMP.

Big shoutout to Mops @ nemesis for helping provide some guidance on building a custom set of BC Forged wheels. Decided on the 2-piece HCA191 wheel with hidden black hardware and brushed clear barrel/face (see bottom pic for color). these will be new summer setup, and I will keep the black brixton forged as my winter setup


Going to run 19x9.5 ET35 for max concave front & rear without running a staggered square setup or limiting myself when I upgrade to a bigger brake setup


Brushed clear (on a different style wheel). Ive always ran black wheels, but I think a lighter color will provide a better contrast to my dark wrap and pop more
