Question Part codes for RS7 engine mounts

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just got the quote for the engine mounts on my 2014 RS7 - $5,000.00 AUD.
This seems high. Each mount is just under $2k.
A quick search found the part number: 4H0-199-383-B which seems to be an updated code from the original part.

    3 questions if I may:
    1. Can anyone confirm this the latest design with better mount reliability?
    2. Is this the same code for both LH and RH mounts? There's no differentiating code available.
    3. I can buy this part for $570 USD but are they the same part/s for LHD and RHD vehicles? I'm Australia RHD.

    Thanks in advance.

I've got in my list of S7 info that the RHS mount is 4H0199384B, and the left is the part number you've got (4H0199383B)

Which supersedes P/NS: 4H0199255T (left) and 4H0199256T (right).

I've got written "new P/N as of 1st July 2020" but I don't know if that's the date the comment was written that I got the P/Ns from

    Driver's 4H0-199-255-T & Passenger's 4H0-199-256-T
Are the old p/n's with the sensor attached.
The 4H0199383B & 4H0199384B are for the mounts without the sensors now.
AFAIK it is unknown if the mounts themselves are truly any different than the old mounts, just now they don't come with the sensors any more and you have to re-use your old ones or buy new.

Thanks for the update. I had a chat to my service centre. I asked about the sensors. I noticed from a few ordering sources that the sensor is a separately orderable item. He was unaware of this as he is still aligned to the obsolete parts where they are integrated. When he quoted from Audi directly they only provided the 383 and 384 B codes, not the sensors. I'll certainly keep an eye on this. Hopefully the sensors can be transferred over.

As for whether the new part is better... let's hope so. I'd like for some longevity. My gut feel is that it's either a better part, or from a new supplier. Time will tell.
