Does this system turn off when the car turns off, or does it stay on continuously. I tried a generic version of tune2air and the bluetooth did not turn off after I shut car off. Phone would stay connected resulting in lost calls because I was outside the car. In addition, it resulted in running down my battery on one occasion. Stopped using it after that

If that tune2air thing plugs in into cigarette lighter plug, then yes, they will run continuously as they provide constant 5V even when car is turned off.

The tune2air plugs into a port in the glove box. The issue for me was the Bluetooth stayed on even after the car was turned off, and I think it kept some portion of the radio powered up, resulting in discharging of the car battery.

The link that zipp provided still works, there are many options for AA/Carplay, Aliexpress has many to look through. Zipp went with the box that integrates with the MMI or others have gone with the standalone that gives better screen quality.

Well it's certainly been a while and I still have the Audi but another family member will be driving it so I need to get Carplay in there to make it a bit more usable. Looks like RSNAV no longer offers any options for the C6 platform anymore but there are still a few out there. Here's what I found in case others are still looking to do the same thing.
