I’m not answering your question, I know, but I think you should have the other kit you requested. Get them to extend the discount for you. Their problem they don’t have stock.

You might be able to finagle a discount extension. But most sales have terms like "Applies to in-stock items only" or "While supplies last" meaning backordered parts don't apply. It sucks, but if thats the terms they set, you can't do much about it. Try a reseller, maybe they'd be more inclined to have stock. FWIW, CTS has sales on their setups quite often, so maybe just be patient and wait for the next sale and just pull the trigger immediately.
