    Stearing wheel vibrator hack

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I purchased a new sport stearing wheel with pedalshifters for my Audi A6 3.0tfsi
I didn't thought about the new wheel did not have vibrator for the lane assist so I had to figure out how to ad vibration to the new sport wheel.

    What I did was:
I cut out the plastic cover for the vibrator on the old wheel.

Unscrew the one screw visible and brake the last.

Detatch the circuitboard for the vibrator motor.

Drill 4 holes for the new small vibrators in the new wheel.

Be careful not to drill to deep!

Install the vibrators in the holes.

I installed them 2 and 2 together in parallel and then then in series.

They are 3v and the controller output is 3-6v so they need to be in series.
(on the pictures I have them all in parallel but they vere too aggressive...

I have cut out a small piece of foam on the buttom of the wheel to make room for the controller board.

See on the picture Wich terminal is positive and negative (not that I think it makes any difference for a vibrator motor)

    Working perfectly!
Not as powerful as the stock one and the buzzing sound is higher with the new vibratormotors but it works and if you haven't tried the stock one you will not notice anything

Here is a link for the vibratormotors:

The new stearing wheel was refurbished purchased on Ebay for about $350

The pedalshifters are easy to program!
The connectors for the the pedalshifters is just Plug'nplay onto the left multifunction button on the stearing wheel.

    I hope you can use my guide Attachment 211647Attachment 211646Attachment 211648Attachment 211650Attachment 211649Attachment 211651Attachment 211652Attachment 211653IMG_20201219_135319.jpgIMG_20201218_233754.jpg

I'm not sure what you mean by this?
The vibration is not as strong as the stock one but enough to be noticed!
The whole point is to be distracted by the lane assist if you get to close the the lines...?

I upgraded my vibrator hack vit two new bigger vibrators instead og the 4 micro vibrators I used in the beginning.
    It works much better now!
I have put them in series and in series added a 22ohm resistor.
For the new vibrator motors I 3d printed a shell for them so that the offset weight would not be disrupted.
