Wait, so does that mean we need to be up to date on factory software before doing a trans flash?

I don't think it matters since the tune itself is still v1.2 on both S0030 and S0050 so I'm guessing it interacts with the transmission in the same way.

I was just curious if there were any updates and noticed the difference when checking. The TCU tune was the exact same as when I initially flashed and the ECU just had the Audi revision bump.

I flashed S0050 yesterday just to be on the later Audi revision. Probably placebo but feels a bit better

Just to ask, the JHM tune doesn't require ECU removal on the MY2009 cars like APR supposedly does, correct? If it doesn't, that might be worth noting on the details for the tune!

We've found the point where the transmission doesn't like it. However, we had some workarounds in the software that allowed us to introduce more power. Haven't reached total failure yet.

At what point was the trans starting to get iffy? Curious if a dual pulley + HX, and downpipes/exhaust is enough power to be pushing the line of a potential catastrophic transmission failure?

Straight 207 with our stage 2 was enough, but we dialed in the powerband to keep it from slipping. We heavily abuse our cars though, as we want to find every weak point possible.

There are a few techniques we uses to keep the trans under control while still getting the full benefit of the 207mm

HX is recommended but not required. You will just heatsoak faster

you can run the downpipes, just need o2 spacer for CEL etc.

Is it normal for the car to ping off of the limiter 1-3 times before shifting? Or could it be an issue with the reset adaptation that'll sort out?

It only does it on a WOT 1>2 shift, 2>3 and 3>4 all shift without bouncing off redline. I can shift it myself a hundred or so early and it shifts fine, but it taps it and as a result cuts back on power as I get into second.

Edit: less than a day after the initial support contact was initiated (9/6) JHM already reached out with a slightly modified tune for my car! I'll be reflashing as instructed tomorrow after work, and I'll update shortly here :)

Let me say, WOW this thing is fast now. The updated trans tune fixed an issue more specific to my car- shifts feel like the ZF8HP transmission in our newer A6 and SQ5 now!

With a USP motorsports intake and the stage 1 tune without an upgraded HX, I was not only able to consistently keep up with, but outrun a WRX on 20 PSI, a stock G37S Coupe, AND a Type R from 30+ rolls.. all on closed roads of course.

If anyone is on the fence about this tune, you need to pull the trigger ASAP. it's night and day difference! Drives smooth as stock in drive, sports and manual shifts are as mentioned above.
