    A place to ask random questions thread

    Since we don’t have one of these I thought it would be good to have a place where people can ask questions or leave comments rather then starting a new thread every time.

    My question is for guys with the CETE. When you are in show mode can you simply just start driving and it’ll revert back to whatever drive select you were previously in? Or do you have to manually switch out of it?

    Good question; I have never tried. I always just put it back into whatever setting I prefer. There is a warning on the CETE app to not drive while in show mode.

    I just installed mine and I have had to take it out of show mode before driving. On the MMI it shows no bars for the air spring on the display for the Drive Select while in show mode.

    Does the air suspension attempt to auto level itself when it starts up or when it changes modes ? For instance in a going Dynamic will show the down arrow on the MMI and lower the car, conversely going to off-road mode will give the up arrow on the MMI and raise the car, is it simply raising and lowering each corner to a predetermined height no matter the terrain/conditions (ie. non flat surfaces is really what I'm wondering about).

    I also notice it doing stuff when I open the doors and when I park the car but I'm guessing that just it doing other adjustments to the system preparing it to be parked or started up.

    Haven’t studied a B9.5 SQ5 in the wild yet. It seems the what we used to call fog light grills are now blocked off compared to my B9 SQ5 that are wide open to coolers.
    Are the extra radiator on one side and trans cooler on the other still there with the slots in the fender liners to exhaust the hot air?
    I have the factory ordered tow setup on mine, thought only extra coolers were only added to the Q7’s tow setup.

    For the CETE what is done to install in the trunk? is there repinning/splicing or anything? I'm still on the fence about cete or just going the oem reprogramming route to lower. I think the height on the rear when you lower it from the trunk is enough low for me.

    The kit comes with two wires taps. You have to tap into to wires in the trunk..very simple

    If you have ever installed a car radio in a car before, the cete controller is no problem to install.

    Anyone using a turbo blanket? If so, what are your thoughts? Also considering wrapping my exhaust with ptp’s lava wrap, would like to know if anyone else has done this also.

    Forge makes a turbo blanket, but I have yet to see anyone use it. I was interested in it as well

    I've asked in AW and got 1 reply, 1 sentence answer. Not needed. I was worried about high temps after a tune affecting nearby hoses/lines and making them brittle over time more quickly and to keep heat in line. Maybe he's an Audi tech? or maybe I should just maintain my stuff more frequently? Who knows.

    Lol I wouldn’t bother asking any questions on AW. Those guys are more concerned with what pillow they can put on there seats to make them more comfortable

    That surprises me, the turbo is sitting in the front of the engine bay at the highest point, I would assume a turbo blanket would help significantly to prevent heat from spreading through the rest of the engine bay. Also pretty much everyone who has gone stage 1 has said that an new intercooler is a must due to severe heat soak, even after a couple of pulls. I think I’m going to be the guinea pig here and try one out. I am still running the stock intercooler on EPL’s stage 1 tune.

    I want to know more about that divorced downpipe. Probably custom but weird it has no large collector like every other.

    It looks like a divorced downpipe, meaning it separates the wastegate and turbine paths.

    Also the turbo blankets I know of are actually designed to make the turbo spool faster.

    The pic u posted with turbo blanket is most definitely a B9 engine , when I reached out Forge they had no clue that one was made or being used for the B9 engine. If u could get more information on that I would appreciate thanks

    When my car sits for a day or over night when I go to start it up the brake pedal is pretty hard - like when you pump up the brakes with the engine off. This normal?

    It happens on mine too. Especially if I leave it over for over 48 hours.

    About to hit 5,000 miles on my Michelin PS4S 295/35/21 tires I got when I got my BC Forged wheels from Mops.

    I know with my S3 there was no tire rotation due to the haladex. But does anyone rotate tires on their SQ5? Trying to maximize tire life on them.

    Driving style/environment plays a huge part. Mine seem to wear evenly. I would inspect them and go from there. Really don't even need to pull them, just feel around the channels and shoulders. Note if more worn at center/shoulder as you may want to adjust your PSI too.

    Anyone running the atmospheric dump valve from forge motor sports? Is there any reason you can’t run an atmospheric dump in our vehicles? I know there was a previous thread on this but I don’t think anyone answered if running atmospheric is a bad thing with our cars.

    I’m running it with zero issues. You typically run into issues with atmospheric valves on cars with MAF sensors but we luckily don’t have them.

    I ran the dump and now the recirc. Both work well.
