I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately and to my knowledge no one has confirmed either way if it will or will not work. But what do people think about using the lower rear bumper section from the b9.5 on the b9? It seems like it should fit, and the upper bumper looks exactly the same on both.

I know it would be costly to try it for it to not fit lol but it would be great to get confirmation either way. I’m sure a lot of b9 guys would jump on that mod

I know I came off a little snarky but without knowing the height of your garage door opening and ceiling height in the garage no one can give you a yes or no answer.

What would be helpful if people can chime in with what cross bars they have, what roof box they, what their ride height is and the overall height from the top of their roof box to the ground.

I was under the impression that height was all the same for garage opening. I had to then look it up after your response. Based off internet search seems that the common opening height is 7’. But mine is less than that but not by much, but I did not take exact measurements. Also, I could have been clear as well as I was looking to see what everyone with a box was using and if it can actually carry something of significance. I have 2 girls plus the wife and going to Tahoe for 4 days for a wedding and not sure if I can fit all their crap in the Q without a box 😬

Unfortunately no part numbers are the same for any of the items. The upper bumper or lower for pre and post are all different numbers. Rear quarter panels are the same, the hatch is a different part number but I suspect that is only for the taillights/trim as the flooring/body for the rear is all the same for all years.

My guess is a whole post-facelift SQ5 rear bumper package would likely fit the pre-facelift SQ5. Possibly get away with just the lower portion and a good body shop or random luck that it fits. Someone would have to test knowing that it might require the upper bumper too. Happy to help with either a full package or start with the lower and valence knowing it might need the upper.

Has anyone replaced their stock air bag cover? I found a company that makes custom ones and I’m considered getting a leather cover but I’m unsure how the disassembly of the airbag is done to replace the cover.

Tire sealant:

I discovered today our new-to-us 2018 SQ5 is lacking the tire sealant in the spare tire compartment. At least that's what I think occupied the vacant "hole" in the top left corner of the compartment and above the air compressor. Can anyone confirm that the sealant sold at Amazon is the original's equivalent in form, fit and function?

This is the old unit? What was the warranty issue?

New unit. Already sold local. Issue with old unit was it was first production version and had finish issues with yellowing and haze due to the heat in engine bay. AWE has fixed that issue on all current units.

For the 2021 sport exhaust (real tips) - is it just a change in tips, or does it also come with a smaller resonator (like on the S5)?

Can I use an engine air filter from the B9 S4/5 on the SQ5? Specifically AFE Dry Pro S. Thanks.

They use the same OE part number for the B9 SQ5 and B9 S4 I'd say it should fit.

The aluminum ECU housing has cooling fins. I would not put a cover on it.

No problem envisioning Audi declining a failed ECU under warranty if your car was ever noted to have had an ECU cover when at the dealer.

I know ECS said it won't fit the SQ5 but was just asking cause some other things from the S5/S4 are transferable. Good to know on the fan though.

ECS also thinks that an engine air filter that fits the B9 S4 won't fit the B9 SQ5 which seems unlikely given they have the same OE part number, so I would take their lack of guaranteed fitment with a grain of salt.

That being said, I wouldn't buy one unless I knew if fit because ECS can be a PITA with shipping and returns.

I bet you need it up. If your talking about the dog bone mount. On our Rs3 it took all my might to get it torqued. And that was on our 4 post lift.
