Just came across this thread as I searched to find my manual swap thread again. I just helped a guy in South Africa swap his A5 from 7spd DSG to 6spd manual. All the same wiring as my car since the A4/A5 are basically the same car and all of the auto trans are wired the same except for back at the TCU. I know you commented in my thread a while back after I posted some info in regards to the wiring being the same for a 3.0t minus the two wires at the ECU going to different pins. I’m pretty confident that besides those two pin differences, the only other thing would be some additional coding for the sport diff. You could hop into VCDS now and verify if there is anything in the long coding for trans type in the sport diff module and I’d try and get some info from 6spd sedan owners on the ABS coding and compare sport diff vs non sport diff on byte 1. Maybe check byte 2 and 3 also since VCDS has info for those and see if there is anything diff related in there.

Not sure when ill move forward. Ive been looking at front end parts for a possible deal on some parts needed for a 8.5 front end conversion but the bump here reminds me of this too...
I think Im gonna let 8.5 salvage come down a bit and just buy a 6mt wreck. Part out what I dont need and go from there. Probably gonna be a year or more.
