I purchased the eventuri couple years ago for my RS5 but does anyone know why they never offered (see pics) in CF?

They said it was because it was a stock part and they dont refinish stock parts in carbon, they just make non-oem pieces for their kits. I've done those exact pieces in both red and black carbon though - the red carbon held up perfectly but I didnt love the color scheme so I went back to black carbon and am on my 3rd set as the prior ones have lifted/yellowed. The newest one Im getting is supposed to be made with a higher-heat resistant epoxy as our engine bays get HOT. I covered up the holes too as they're just there if the intake sucks up a ton of water in a giant puddle but I dont drive mine in the rain and doubt that would come into play for me.

Oldest ones in black that yellowed:

Current red version thats being replaced by new black ones:

You can have them made by Prapan over at NVD Autosport.

I would not use anyone but Prapan for my CF obsession. perfect fitment. Excellent workmanship

2015 RS5: Mythos Black, Tech Package , Dynamic steering, Black Optics, Folding side mirror upgrade, internal LED lights, Eventuri Intake, Akrapovič exhaust, KW DDC ECU, lots of CF
2013 3.0T Prestige Q7: Sport pedals, LED interior lights

I think we assume those holes are for sucking and to allow the engine to breathe should the front grille become blocked with snow. Evidence on my car would suggest it also blows air or spills some air out of the holes, I always have a perfect set of Sandy/dusty spots on the under side of the hood directly above the intake we are talking about. Maybe it spills on closed throttle but there's just too much dust there for that to be true.

I had mine covered but the carbon didn't match the Eventuri carbon and the gel coat yellowed within a few months so I pulled them off.

I had a set made by Carbon Dezigns (https://carbon-designz.com/) but they are turning yellow. Is there anybody that actually makes a complete carbon? It seems that getting them skinned isn’t working due to the yellowing issue.

Does Prapans turn yellow? Anyone know? How do I find Prapan to send him a message?

    Thx in advance

    John

That engine runs extremely hot. Even though I was assured by Eventuri that their new resin is more heat resistant, I open up my hood everytime I get home

And knowing German engineering, I am sure those holes serve a purpose

Are these made from real carbon? Meaning, they are not skinned on top of the OEM intakes?

    Thank you,

No these are just skinned but Prapan/NVD has gotten much better over the years and he replaces any yellowing pieces free so he apparently made my latest engine bay pieces with the correct epoxy as I havent had ANY yellowing/lifting issues on my latest set from him.

I cant recall exactly but about $500 as the base part costs $200 and about $300 for the carbon skin which is tricky to coat on that piece. If you send him your base parts via USPS to Thailand, you'll save that $200 parts cost.
