    Hello,

I test fitted one of the Macan front calipers to see if my wheels would fit over them and they do not. I am glad I did not completely remove the current OEM caliper. The wheels I have are AG 510 19x9.5 et40.
The wheel spokes touch the caliper at the bottom of the oval with the Porsche logo. See picture.
Would wheel spacers help? 5mm, 10mm?

    Thanks

    Ch13f.

If you already have it tested, just fake spacers with wood, nuts or .... to see how much you need.

Found a set on eBay that I snagged for $340 plus taxes shipped (part was removed from a 2017 Porsche Macan 4C Base with 49k Miles). They had different part numbers on them though. 95b-615-105 and 95b-615-106. I couldn't find them anywhere on the lines, but I think that OEM might have a different part number than replacement parts. Not unheard of.

Probably not doing the upgrade until my current brakes show signs of needing to be replaced. Waste not, want not.

I just ordered everything to do all four corners with 2015-18 Porsche Macan (base, 2.0L) calipers. Nano999's excellent head start and classicrl45's picture of the rear caliper pushed me over the edge. I put a parts list together and have it posted in my build thread - here. I will not get to install the new brakes until the motor and suspension work is done. Fingers crossed.

Except for the rear calipers (explained in thread), all parts are new. I got these on Ebay (they are pulls from the same vehicle - a 2018 Porsche Macan Base 2.0L with 38,000 miles.)

So, I finally got this done about 2 weeks ago. The story of going from ordering parts in 2021 to getting everything installed in March 2024 is its own thread (might sell the rites to it for a movie as it involves gang violence, foreign countries, and other stuff).

The only problem I have is that my rear rotors are about 4 mm wider than the stupid metal shims that go between the left and right pads. So, those shims rub on the rotors almost all the time and I sound like an NYC subway train even when I'm not touching the brake pedal. I bought some cheap pads that came with the shims and I've cut them down to clear and will get them installed on Thursday. Other than that, it feels great! I also did SS lines all around so that helps too.

I should have replied. The modified shims work great. Two months on now and loving it. Just a little squeak the first time I touch the pedal in the morning, but by the time I'm out of the driveway its quiet. Wish I had done this three years ago when I started it. Actually wish I had done it 13 years ago when I got the car.

Got my set installed yesterday. It really was not hard to do and even the Macan rubber lines bolted up just fine. Shot them with some Rustoleum metallic grey. And added cheesy Audi rings on them along with a couple coats of clear.

I used my pressure bleeder and cracked each of the halves of the calipers until I saw fresh fluid. Took it for a spin and got the new pads bedded in. All good! Definitely stops well.

FYI, as if this thread isn't endorsement enough, those 4 pot calipers are rad. LOADS of stopping power.

Just ordered up a set of calipers (hoping I am going to get the carriers) for the rear from a Macan too. Gotta complete the look.

So I did the S4 rears when I did this. I used Adam's Rotors that I ordered before he passed away. The shims that came with the akebeno pads were slightly too narrow for the rotors. So, I bought new pads and trimmed the shims down as much as I could, but now they slide back and forth in the caliper and cause an awful squeal. I've measured the Adam's rotors and they are exactly 22.0mm which I believe is the nominal width for S4 rotors.

Anyone else have a problem similar to this? I've looked at other rotors online and they are listed as 22mm wide, but not sure if that is rounded up from an actual width that is slightly narrower.

Stubek, I wish I could help. I wonder if you actually got the right set of calipers.

Unrelated, I was hanging out on eBay and scored a set of Macan rears. The original listing did the typical thing where it shows the whole car being damaged as if this is the vehicle you are getting these parts from...so I had no idea what I was getting. They were selling them individually and never indicated what came with the calipers (Bracket, brake motors, etc). I wanted combined shipping so I dug around and found their number.

So I called them up and gave them the eBay item numbers and the dude said, yeah, we can combine them, no problem. Again, still was a gamble for what I was getting for my $147.

I was very, very pleasantly surprised when I come home and open the package and got this!

I can't find an "Audi" part number on my rear calipers, only a TRW number. It does have an Audi logo just above the TRW

    The right caliper is
    TRW
    GNO
    43
    6455/A BI8
    1051

I can't actually find that listed in TRW's catalog.

Anyone have an idea of exactly what caliper this is? A4, S4, A5, S5, something else?

    For the B8 rear brakes (L / R; x = no rev letter)

    carrier bracket

    8K0 615 425 / 426 _
    x - 330x22 unpainted
    A - 330x22 jet black
    B - rolled to C in '08
    C - 300x12 unpainted
    D - unknown
    E - 330x22 tornado red

    caliper

    8K0 615 403 /404 _
    x - B8.0 330x22 unpainted
    A - B8.0 330x22 jet black
    B - B8.0 300x12 unpainted
    C - B8.5 330x22 unpainted
    D - B8.5 330x22 jet black
    E - B8.5 300x12 unpainted
    F - B8.5 330x22 tornado red + RS plate

    8R0 615 403 / 404 _
    x - B8.5 330x22 tornado red + SQ5 plate

So if it's factory black, it's the S4/S5 330x22 caliper. But whether it's the B8.0 EPB motor or the B8.5 EPB motor, I've covered that difference in some thread, here or at audiworld. If you can see an Audi p/n on the EPB motor, 8K0998281 is B8.0, 8K0998281A is B8.5.

Unfortunately, when TRW went under ZF, everything useful about their parts catalogs got removed from the Internet, at least from Google search, it seems. And neither www.trwaftermarket.com/en/catalogue nor www.trwaftermarket.com/us/catalog/ has ever loaded correctly for me in any browser on any Windows version, since ZF took over.

For the Macan, which uses the same TRW single-piston system:

    carrier bracket is:

    95B 615 425 / 426 _

    x - 1KD, black, 330x22, Macan
    C - 1KE, silver, 330x22, Macan S
    E - 1KY, red, 330x22, Macan GTS
    D - 2EK, red, 356x28, Macan Turbo
    B - 2EH, yellow, 370x30, PCCB / Macan 4C

caliper is (they updated the revs at some point):

    95B 615 423 / 424 _

    x > G - 1KD, black, 330x22, Macan
    D > D - 1KE, silver, 330x22, Macan S
    F > K - 1KY, red, 330x22, Macan GTS
    E > N - 2EK, red, 356x28, Macan Turbo
    C > M- 2EH, yellow, 370x30, PCCB / Macan 4C

    EPB motor is 8K0 998 281 A, so the B8.5 one.

The rear wheel hub for the Macan is 8K0 407 613 B, so that's the A/S model one. The B8 RS uses a thicker rear hub (8K0 407 613 D), which is why the RS 330x22 rotors are not an accurate direct swap with the A/S 330x22 rotors.

    The Macan 330x22 rotor is 95B 615 601 G. Looks like the A/S rotor (was 4H0 615 601 H, now 8W0 615 601 K), but can't confirm they are identical personally.

Thanks. I'll have to take a wheel off and see if I can find the P/N on the EPB. Besides on the top surface of the caliper where the TRW number is, should the actual Audi P/N be somewhere on the caliper or only on the carrier?

I don't believe the Audi p/n is on the caliper itself anywhere. Even if it was, it wouldn't be the same as the catalog p/n, since the catalog p/n is a composite p/n (caliper, boots, EPB, etc).

FYI, I got the rears installed and the electronic parking break hooked up directly to my factory 2011 wiring and worked great. Got some more air out of the system and the performance is even better.

I've been watching and reading this thread for a while, and as Bruce Buffer would say "Iiiiiiiiits tiiiiiiiiiiime!" My only question is what's the physical size of the front pads? I'm picky about what I run and have ran StopTech Sport pads on various cars throughout the years. I can find them for a 2010 STI but I want to make certain that they fit. If I can find them I might get the Ferodo ds2500, but that's a lot of break.
    Thanks in advance

Never mind, I ended up just getting yellow stuff pads. Here are the specs that I found after the fact. They are 131.7x77.4x5mm if that helps anyone looking for a better pad.

I went through Harper Porche. Great guys, I talked to the Parts counter on the phone. They said they keep at least 5 sets on hand because of us. All together it was $620 shipped.
