When I ordered in March, one of the calipers was out of stock in the US and had to come from Germany, so it may be that.

Just wanted to point this out. These are 320mm, not 345mm. These are not direct bolt on's for a B8 S.4, almost made an impulse purchase and noticed at the last second!

Thanks but none of those carry the Porsche Macan calipers, just the Q5's

Anyone know if the yellow ones (https://www.harperautoparts.com/v-20...--front-brakes part 95B-615-123-L about halfway down the page) are the same as the other colors? This one specifies "with ceramic brakes" but I wasnt sure if they're really just the same caliper but porsche only put the yellow color on the ceramic brake package.

Those calipers along with the red Macan S calipers require Macan knuckles as well for install. The only direct bolt-on ones are the black calipers from the base 4cylinder Macan.

Thanks for the heads up. Really wanted a color, red or yellow, and still keep the porsche branding on there, but I guess I'll have to do it myself

Por15 brush on caliper paint is the move, I painted my A7 bbk with their yellow paint and they still look great 2yrs later. I'm sure Porsche caliper stickers are pretty easy to find on eBay to complete the look.

Thank you so much for the great write-up! I'm finishing my cart for B8 S4 rn to start ordering parts. May I suggest adding a few things to complement the initial post for new people like me? I'm trying to replace all the HW as I go through the car to make sure it's fresh and reliable, especially on a 100K-mile car. So I would also add the following:

    Caliper Mount Bolt (x4): PAF-911-476
Disc Brake Pad Wear Sensor (x1): 8R0-615-121 (Q5), 95B-907-253-A (Macan, but not 100% sure, as well as whether it can work with A4)
    Brake hose (x2): 95B-611-701-E (Macan, not sure if it's interchangeable with Q5 (8R0611707A) and S4 (8K0611775J) ones)

I would appreciate if someone could clarify the above regarding Wear Sensor and Brake Hose, as for example on FCP Euro a brake hose for S4 or Q5 can be obtained for $15, while Genuine Macan is $40-$50.

I just reused my bolts, brake lines, and bought a new A4/Allroad wear sensor, 57k miles ago.

Just so you guys know I will be selling my 4 piston Macan front brakes soon so I can move up to a 380mm kit. Also the SQ5 setup is killer if you don't mind the weight.

Me being in beautiful Southern California, I reused everything lol. My brake lines were okay, although I kind of wish I went the SS route. Also I spliced the brake wear sensor together so it never comes on. I can easily check for myself if I need new pads. Lol.

Dude just so everyone knows. I had the Porsche Brembo Macan 4 pot brakes, Audi Sq5 ATE 15" brakes , RS5/ R8 8 pot brakes and also Alcon 15" brakes. None of them require BMC swap. Our BMC works very well with all those kits mentioned. But, Install and enjoy.

Reviving the thread to ask about S4 rears. What is the issue with B8 and B8.5 calipers? I understand B8 on B8 works and B8.5 on B8 doesn't work, but how about the last scenario, B8 on B8.5? i.e. 2012 S4 on 2014 A4

I have B8 S4 on my B8.5 Allroad. I was going to switch out my lower mileage parking brake motors but the drive was not compatible, so I just plugged in the OGs on the calipers.

That said, it wasn’t a noticeable difference, I had already installed the 4 piston Macans 40k prior, well worth it.

I found a pair and repainted them (they originally had the SQ5 logo on the plate). The only difference on the macan rears seems to be that they have a wear sensor.

It only makes sense that these platforms would share parts. All the specs match up. Macans have 330mm rears too. Here’s a link to a current eBay listing:

Confirming 2017 Macan 2.0t rear calipers fit on my 2010 A4 Avant. Strangely the only thing that did not fit on my car in this conversion was the Macan front dust shields.

Many thanks to the OP and everyone’s comments here.

Interesting. I just ordered everything including the dust shields for my avant. Think the dusts would fit with minor modification?

I bought the shields based on OP notes but also knowing they weren’t expensive if they did not fit. Honestly, I took the whole kit to a local performance shop I trust for the work so I didn’t wrench myself. I don’t plan to track the car so the venting was a low priority. If you try it out, let us know and I may try again. I was mostly interested in the Macan rear calipers since it seems everyone else was using the S4/S5 rears. I like the consistency and both front and rear are now 2017 Macan.

It’s a good shop with stellar reputation but I think you’re right. I still have the shields and may just do it myself.

The brakes have been awesome. Ceramic pads have cut down the dust 10x. And glad I went with the Macan rear calipers.

Thanks again for your write up and inspiration.

"B9" does not appear in this thread anywhere that I can see. That said, the question presented is a more generic "do B9 brakes fit on B8 vehicles", which is a lot more of a stretch than simply using Macan 2.0T 345x30 brakes on a B8 vehicle. Which is what this thread is about.

The B9.0 Q5 2.0T uses the same 338x30 4-piston fixed caliper ATE brakes as the B9 A4 and B9 A5, not 345x30 4-piston fixed caliper Brembo like B8.5 Q5 3.0T / 3.0 TDI used (or 320x30 version for B8.5 Q5 2.0T). It appears from some simple google searching that you'd need some custom brackets at least, based on threads of putting B9 S 350x34 and RS 375x36 on B8 vehicles. I don't know why you'd bother unless you had them already sitting around.

For the Macan rears, any other parts I should buy at the same time?

Just make sure you buy the correct rotors and brake pads.
I selected macan brembo rotors and macan ebc red stuff pad.

Macan pads, not S4 pads, right? Anyone have the part numbers for the correct Macan pads?

I ordered the OP's parts list for the front brakes for my '11 S4. Ended up being $667 shipped from the Porsche dealer he recommended. Should arrive in a few days.

I'm in the process of putting everything together. I shopped for 2015 Porsche Macan brake pads and they are definitely not correct. Rockauto.com just lists the 3.0L V6 and 3.6L V6 options, and the brake pads look like this:
    https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...=1684&jsn=1321

The pads that are compatible with driver side Macan part number 95B-615-123-F and passenger side Macan caliper 95B-615-124-F actually look like this (I am just about positive):
    https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...=1684&jsn=1070

The short version is that the 2015-2016 Porsche Macan front calipers are NOT the same as the 2015-2017 Audi Q5; apparently the only the sportier Macan was available for those years and they had the bigger 6-pot calipers. The 2017 Porsche Macan with the 2L I4 apparently does have the same calipers as the 2015-2017 Q5 according to my research on rockauto.com.

To confound things even further, I tried looking up the Hawk HPS 5.0 part number at hawkperformance.com. The parts lookup there is completely unreliable--it returns results that I can't duplicate anywhere else. For example, it indicates that all four versions of the 2017 Macan (base, S, GTS, and turbo) all take the same pads, which are the same as the 2015-2016 6-pot brake pads. But browsing rockauto.com, there are clearly different pads for the 2017 2L Macan as opposed to the 3.0L and 3.6L.

So I looked up the 2015 Audi Q5 at hawkperformance.com and it returns nothing.

So then I looked up 2015 Audi Q5 at hawkpadsdirect.com and came up with this, which looks accurate. https://www.hawkpadsdirect.com/produ...40862568448192 That's part number HWKHB806B.624. Amazon has them for $107.99. https://www.amazon.com/Hawk-Performa.../dp/B074MYD4JV So that's what I'm going to order, and hope that it's the right pad.

The good news is that all of the part numbers from the OP's post are the correct parts--they all bolt up as-expected. It's just finding the right Hawk Performance 5.0 brake pads that's been somewhat problematic. I plan to light-duty track my S4, and from what I've read, the 5.0 pads should do street and track duty reasonably well.

Has anyone found a better price than $567.28 for the two fronts? Currently in my cart at Delaware Porsche. I have an S5 so it seems I can reuse everything else. Just need calipers and pads.

FYI those were the correct pads--the fit properly and seem fine so far. Stopping power is decent when cold but ramps up once the pads have a little heat into them (like several mild / moderate stops from 60ish mph). I haven't taken them to the track yet.
