    Installing an Audisport Aerokit

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey Audizine,

Recently we have had the pleasure to install an Audisport Aerokit 1 on a 2018 Audi TTRS. Having an Aerokit on our 2017 R8, this was a cool experience to compare the parts and installation process. I would also boast that we are one of the only shops in North America to have installed both!

Here are some photos of the install process, and I will update with some professional shots of the completed car soon!

Congrats! I bought mine from Alex@Europrice and I hope to install it soon!

Excellent work! I didn’t buy the hood nor the carbon fiber cross strut bar.

How long those this install takes. Any tips? I’ve heard that someone needed some extra bolts to perform the install.

Proper install time is about 15-20 hours with rear cross brace.

No extra bolts were needed, if anything Audi sent spares in some cases for the install.

Thank you so much! I don’t have the rear cross brace, that must be plenty of time to take everything out related with the rear seat!

Is the rear seat delete available on it's own? That is pretty much exactly what is needed to shed those rear seat lbs but not make the car look like a bucket of bolts.

In fact it’s sold on it’s own; he bought the Aero Kit 1 and the rear cross strut. I don’t know if he bought the hood as well.

No hood , still on the fence about it

On the parts catalogue , their “hood scoop” is literally that a 1700 euros for a scoop, you cut into your own hood to retrofit it.

Wasn’t sure on how carbon fiber handles living outside daily in the sun with engine heat to add to that long term.

I think it will outstand very well on hot weather. I would be pretty worried about having to cut into your own hood and not having the template perfectly aligned.

    Congrats on your car!

Great set of pics! Super glad to see this stuff finally becoming available.
One day I will own a TTRS, and one day I will have these parts.
For now, I guess I'll keep drooling

    Hi man,

In fact the Audi Performance Parts for the Audi TT 8S and the R8 are already out of production.

    Installing an Audisport Aerokit

Yeah that’s the unfortunate piece of news none of the dealers will even bother responding regarding this kid as well , truly sad , hopefully in a few years you can be lucky enough to find a side skirt or two from a totaled euro ttrs or a guy selling one over seas (I’d do a shell swap / electronics to get matrix led fronts if budget wasn’t an issue)

Regarding to the rear diffuser, the OEM exhaust tips are a little bit bigger and with a different shape than the ones on the Audi Performance Parts Akrapovic exhaust. Did you have to trim a little bit the Audi Performance Parts rear diffuser? Or any other adaptation was requiered?

    Thank you very much!

    Best regards,

    Beto

No, mine hasn’t been done yet, I’m taking precautions. Look at minute 4:10 until around minute 5:40 on this video. They do some trimming and I don’t know if it’s part of the procedure for every install or in this case because of the size of the OEM tail pipes being bigger than the Akrapovic Audi Performance Parts’ exhaust tips.

    Have a good one!

The Audisport diffuser was not trimmed during the install, however the rear bumper support had to be trimmed slightly per the instructions.

Thank you so much, I highly appreciate it! You’re right, it isn’t the Audi Performance diffuser, it’s the rear bumper support what’s trimmed. Was it done this way because the car is using the OEM exhaust or it’s the same procedure either way (with OEM exhaust or the Akrapovic).

    Thanks again!

It is the same procedure regardless of which exhaust. It seems the Aerokit rear diffuser has a wider cut out than the factory diffuser.

Might anyone have the official Audisport body kit install manual? I’m looking for clarity on how to install the secondary review diffuser parts and where exactly adhesive is to be applied
