Looking for some help on identifying the correct type of sealant to use at each engine mating surface.

Specifically, where does anaerobic vs RTV get applied?

Valve cover: anaerobic
Upper oil pan:?
Lower oil pan: RTV
Lower chain cover: RTV
Rear main seal:?

I think my "?" are also RTV, but because they are machined surfaces - my rear main seal is aftermarket - with very little to no air exposure I'm second-guessing it.

Also, what does everyone prefer to use for sealant brand, Permatex or Elring?
