    MAF code 0P100

So my story starts when I got a OBDELEVEN...aka a obd scanner. I scanned the first day I got the scanner and my 2013 Audi A4 b8 came up with a MAF low circuit code. So naturally I cleared the code see if it would do anything. This is all stock keep in mind...Then a couple months role around and I get myself a ECS carbon Fiber intake and I installed the first day I got it. Then as I drove the sound was amazing and there was no codes or anything but then I noticed my power was a little off, it just didn’t feel right trying to get to 60 fast. So as months role on I scan the car here and there and there was no codes coming up but the car still just didn’t feel right so then one day the code came back up for the MAF and I instantly bought a new MAF sensor. Installed the new sensor and car still doesn’t feel right and my gas mileage is not the best. So I do all the tests with a multi meter on the connector and the sensor port itself and everything is fine. So here’s my question where do I go from there? How do I get my car running right with the right amount of boost being released, etc. ??

    Probably a leaking wastegate if it’s a B8

I would hope the wastegate didn’t go already

So, it is NOT tuned, right? It is possible the new intake isn't allowing the normal heat change within the MAF. If were tuned, it may run better. Unplug the MAF and test if the power returns on another drive.

Another possibility is the larger intake may also have the MAF report to the ECU that there is less air mass coming in...even though this intake utilizes the same MAF housing, yes? This results in reductions of fueling and timing...unless your tune (be it performance or stock) allows for this adjusted MAF report. Do you have data for mass air before and after to see if the reported air has changed?

"Where to go from here?"...The wiring needs to be checked for damage. All of the clamped connections on the new intake need to be tight. Again, see if it runs better with the MAF unplugged....it will still run but will do so based on the MAP report. If it does run better...then the reported air is off. This means MAF is bad, air leaks in the intake, plugged or insufficient filter, or diameter of intake is too big. If not...then the code may be due to a wiring issue and is in need of re-testing.

I am just reaching and grabbing here...hoping to help work through it.

If the MAF housing is stock, the intake won’t change the way the MAF reads the incoming air.

That is true except for the velocity factor of slower air just prior to the maf section...and then you question; has the short stock MAF section allowed air to speed up to its max velocity at the MAF as it was before? Given it is stock tuned...it may be the air velocity is slower and reducing power. If tuned, it would likely be adjusted for this. This is all why I hoped the OP had before and after mass air data. Still, the new mass air data could be compared to another's or figured roughly to compare with known HP.

Mine was already leaking at 43k.

That said, logging actual vs requested boost and wastegate duty cycle seem in order.

Yes it would be purely coincidental that something else “broke” with the intake change but it would not be all that difficult to reinstall the OE intake.

If boost is a concern...what do you have to look at its data? Can you log specified and actual boost along with WGDC? Do you know someone with VAG-COM?

My friend suggested the same thought about getting a stage 1 or 2 to map out according to what the intake sucks in.
